I subscribed many years, when Harris had it, they sold to the Conglomerate.
They in turn, published it several years, however several features and writers were dropped, to my dislike.
So, I did not renew when my subscription ended Winter of "22".

Gone under, late 2023. Outdoor &. Firearms related spinoff sold to a third party, who shut down everything that wasnt “soft porn” ie swimsuit issues.

Paper magazines are almost gone now, except labors of love like muzzleloader magazine &  some  independant mags…

greeting my good ira

Glad you weren’t caught!
Any “vendor” that says to pay via Paypal Friends and Family must be avoided at all costs!

One has no recourse using F and F , except “perhaps” via your credit card company. FURTHER, i
Make it a point to use ONLY a credit card , not a debit card, as the Big Credit Co’s give one more recourse,
And somehow the debit cards are easier to hack !?!

The only time I use paypal F and F is with people i personally know and trust. Other paypal xactions
Are only thru specific verified PP vendors. I use PP because they are a well regulatedtrustworthy, “cutout” between
Me and mzy CC and have  clawed moneyback on more than one occasion.

Then the CC company is the next level of recourse.

And contrary to popular belief, PP can be sued. Not easily but is possible.

FURTHER FURTHER, Mrs Marvel and I use only a single specific card for internet transactions and no other transactions,
Making sureto set it up so I get texts for EVERY SINGLE TRANSACTION! It has saved me in past because I could notify
TheCC company immediately if a purchase occurred that i did not make.

And it limits any bad guy stuff to that card only.

We do not allow ANY direct bank payments from our bank accounts to anything except the known verified mortage
All other bills get paid via the one CC, which also gets points btw :), and  via one specific “bill paying computer” ,  via a firewall and VPN.

It may be a tish inconvenient, but “convenience” is what has allowed the bad guys to get away with so much.
Including hacking into school, local govt, hospitals, etc. and the infamous “hold your data for ransom crap” :(

It literally goes back to what I was taught by the Security teams at my old. Day job with DOD contractor -
Limit all access, compartmentalize, and monitor all interactions.

Even then, the only “safe” compter is one that has no connection to the ‘net .

When I look at my internet modem logs I am constantly amused at the “attempted entries” , whitch the modem itself rejects via its own firewall.

I thank my lucky stars that my info on the gov dod system dates back to “before” the morons in washington allowed internet access To employee records. The infamous 2015 Chinese Hack of millions of Federal  Employee records:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Office_of_Personnel_Management_data_breach

Whatever data the fed held on me is on paper in a box in a salt mine in utah :)

And here is what Chi a has done in recent months!

https://www.google.com/search?q=chinese+hack+dod+computers&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-us&client=safari#ip=1

At least the fed is actively working on this crap…

Nope.  Not behind at all.  The parent publishing organization for Guns Of The Old West went BUST.  GOTOW is now GONE.

The Powder Room - CAS reloading / Re: Beware of Midwest Reloading!

Glad they didn't getcha!  There are a number of those sites now.  Lack of credit card pay method and having everything in stock are both big red flags.  As for Clays, you won't find it anywhere except maybe Gunbroker-type scalpers.  If/when Clays comes back, there will be a lot of people making noise about it!  Meanwhile, try to find Alliant Clay-Dot as it is almost identical.  And a number of other fast powders can do about the same thing.

The Powder Room - CAS reloading / Beware of Midwest Reloading!
« Last post by ira scott on Today at 01:50:10 PM »
Well, the scammin b#sturds almost got me! A Google search for "Clays powder for sale", and I find Midwest Reloading. Lo and behold, they have Clays powder in stock, 690 some 4# jugs, at normal retail price. Shipping $25, no Hazmat fee added? Then it came to payment, Venmo?, some other form I didn't recognize, and PayPal. The instructions said to contact them for their PayPal E-mail address, and send via Friends and Family, since PayPal is not a gun friendly company. After seeing the really strange E-mail address, I became suspicious and searched to see if Midwest Reloading was a scam, guess I should have done that first!  F rating by the BBB, complaints of orders taken, but never shipped. Apparently, there have been several "legitimate appearing" websites, offering impossible, or hard to get supplies for shooters.
