Why not my caliber?

I'm wondering why they don't make one in .38 special.  They make it for the '66, anyone have an idea?

Maybe something to do with the weight. Think how thick the wall of that magazine tube would be in a .38sp.

I've never seen one in person, but I'd still like to have one.

I think Chance hit the bullseye. A 1860 Henry in 38 spl. would weigh a ton with the added wall thickness of the mag tube and barrel since they are one assembly. Beside most people look at Henrys as a style point rifle instead of a race gun.

The Sharps with the aluminum barrel was not a shooter. Selleck had 3 Sharps made for her movie. Two were shooters, the one with the aluminum barrel was for dropping on the ground. When the movie was done shooting, Selleck kept one of the shooters. I doubt if Uberti is going to tool up to make sleeved lightweight barrels so they can make a lightweight Henry.
That’s bad business! How long do you think I’d stay in operation if it cost me money every time I pulled a job? If he’d pay me that much to stop robbing him, I’d stop robbing him.

all that said, I'd sure be interested in a Henry .44 Rossian cal.,recently at a cas match, I saw a '66 converted to shoot the .44 Russian by using a cut down reliner and rechamber on a 44-40 cal. Maybe Uberti will come thru with something. With the Henry having the one pc. machined barrel and magazine tube, not sure if the same rechambering could be done, but just as soon have a factory version.
