About 15 years ago, I gave my son a couple single actions: an 1860 Richards-Mason in .44 Colt/Russian, and a 5" Wells Fargo model 1875 Schofield in .45 Colt/Schofield. A few months back, I got the 1860 R-M back. to go with my .44 1872 Open top.
Well, he misses the 1860 after all, so its going back to him, BUT he is giving me back the Schofield! I think I got the better end of the deal. Yeah, its a different caliber than the 1872 Open Top, but I don't think I mind a bit. I'll be like Rafe (Tom Selleck) in Crossfire Trail. AN 1872 Open Top and an 1875 Schofield. I get it back tomorrow.
