I have always wanted one of those!   There was a western that I think had Anthony Perkins as a Confederate Officer and he carried one.    It had to be an original at that point.  I looked at the logistics of getting a Lemat pistol, replacing both barrels and restructuring the grip to a rifle stock.   Looked at my meager wallet and talent and just sighed.     In looking at the cylinder, I think that would be a later French model?

Where do you place the support offhand? On that shaped extension to the trigger guard?

It looks positively Steampunk.

That would definitely be where I would put my hand.   I have a shoulder stock for my 1860 Colt, that is where I keep it.  I have held an original Colt Root Carbine that was bought and issued to Texas Rangers.   It was sharp and I wish the Palmetto ones had been reliable enough, as I would have bought and chopped.    The original Carbine felt great holding at the trigger guard.   I really wish I could remember the movie.  It has been an eon since I have seen it and I am not 100% it was Anthony Perkins, could have been George Hamilton before he became famous for being tan.   Now I am thinking it is him.   Argh, to the Internet..

Okay, that would have maybe been more dramatic if I was not already there.

Okay, in looking at IMDB, I am thinking the Movie was A Time for Killing, and the actor who had the LeMat Carbine was George Hamilton.

Didn't Raven (Jay Strite) build one of these that was on the cover of GOTOW a few years back?  Or was that some other model?
