Beer Drinkin', Racin' 'n Football

Not all that much, no. The ole man was inta modifieds. Sold his part of the operation a l'il while after I was born. Think he wanted to stay away from the temptation. Rarely did he take me ta anythin' other than what's now a cup race.

Do remember Bill Dennis in a Studebaker built 'n owned by Junie Donlavey outta Richmond winnin' three or four of 'em back in the day.

Updates:

Ganassi has shut down the 40 team 'n laid off 70 employees. (That's true)

Kyle Petty out of the 45 now that Mears may be available next season. (That's rumor)

Said Ashley's husband may run the NNS. He really should have stayed in the less competitive 'n easier open wheel stuff. He's in over his head in a stock car.

Got a chuckle outta Ganassi sayin' if he kept the 40 on the track he was afraid it would drag down his other two cars. One is 20th the other 32nd. Wouldn't be much of a drag.

Sorenson hasn't been runnin' very good either.

Thinkin' Sorenson is better than the car. He's never been this low in points before. All of his development was in stock cars. He's won in the NNS.

What I think is happenin' is Ganassi is puttin' the biggest effort in money 'n personnel in the 42. Sorenson 'n Franchetti, if that's how it's spelled, are gettin' scraps.

Ole Floyd would have been best off keepin' Stremme. He's in the top ten in points in the NNS. Drivin' seconds of Wallace's kid's car 'n they sat him out a race.

I Noticed that they have gone to Chevys at Wallace's Nationwide shop.  I think that Ganassi feels that Montoya is the future of his team.  I'm still not convinced that the Dodges can be competative on a regular basis, other than maybe Everham.

Wallace dumped Dodge end of last season. Think Penske cut the support off.

Gottah look at who Dodge is with. Penske doesn't have a driver close to a championship transfer position. Evernham has one in, for now, his other two are junk. Petty 'n Ganassi stuff are also rans.

Like Toyota last year. Waltrip 'n Davis? Mateschitz was the only one serious about winnin' 'n his was a start up team. They sign Gibbs, Mateschitz gets a couple key people 'n they're blowin' Dodge in the weeds.

Bet on Kahne. Montoya is sittin' 20th in points. With only nine races left 'n other folks turnin' up the heat, he ain't gottah prayer of makin' the championship run..

I'm still hopin that Kenseth will get in.  Don't know how focused Stewart is with all the rumors stirring around his future.

Kenseth is the only one that's been in all the chase things. Like ta see 'em keep that goin'.

Zipadelli 'n JD both have had about enough of Stewart. Rumors are floatin' 'round sayin' no matter what he decides to do Home Depot is stayin' on the 20.

     The time has been flyin by this year an I have been laggin in the racin department.  I hope ta have things back in order fer football.  Not too far out now.  Course I done fine with the beer drinkin

My bad, Leo. There's 9 left to what they call the chase. There's 10 left after that. Only the top 12 in the standings will be eligible for the championship after Richmond.

With racin' 'n football, I stay in beer drinkin' shape year round.

Me Too! With NASCAR, FOOTBALL(Pro and College), Rodeo, and the  PBR, there's always a reason and a season to drink Beer for.

The 1 didn't fit the templates. NASCAR let 'em mess with it 'n it still didn't fit. NASCAR seized it. They've told everyone not to mess with the bodies.

Last trip was wing mounts on the 66 'n 70. The penalties were severe including the confiscation of the cars 'n six race suspensions of the crew chiefs. I expect Bono will be takin' a mid-season vacation.

Other......

The NHRA has cut the track distance down to 1,000 feet for Top Fuel 'n Funny Car. Effective immediately and indefinitely.

The scribblers er sayin' Truex is pissed. Wonder why..........

Basically, what's wrong is the roof is too narrow. DEI spokesman said the 1 left the shop fittin' their templates. Let's see. Four DEI cars, three passed tech not ta mention the 1 has passed tech all year, so did the backup they'll have to use. Guess they must have different sets of templates or they're offerin' a very weak lie. Did it shrink in the hauler?

The backup had the wrong motor in it. They changed it. It rained 'n washed out practice. Truex has to hit the track for qualifyin' dead cold. Not a lap turned in either car in practice.

Why in the name of h*ll would anyone take a car they know may be caught bad 'n not have the backup ready to hit the track?

Looks ta me ta be plain 'n simple. They tried to fudge on aero 'n got caught. Riskin' that, their backup wasn't properly prepared to put on the track. If I was Truex I'd be pissed too. Big time.

Sounds ta me like they pulled it before an figgured they had the system dialed.
     Can't go back in time ta check, but that's the only way I can see em makin such a bold (stupid) move.  Heck, it aint their money.
