I haven't gotten that holster, but I've got one by WPG of another pattern.  It's quite nice.  They're not El Paso Saddlery quality, but they're probably as good as the originals.  It will serve you well.

I have a couple of pieces of WPG leather gear.  It is really quite nice.  Very "un-issued".   I would not hesitate to buy something from him that I wanted.

Thanks this design would be a option ...actually I'm looking for the US Holster for the Colt  38  Commando (see below )
that would be more correct for my gun.

Still the M1917 is a sweet design  :-\

I have arthritis in my hands and hand sewing would flair it up...so a friend and quite skilled leather worker said he'd give it a go.

That might be a bit loose in the holster.  WPG makes a .38 Colt holster but it is for a 6" barrel.

That true ... had an original years ago, my had had acquired to carry his S&W Hand Ejector I recall it was loose in it...

I'll look into the 38 holster @ WPG

Yep, one of the pictures even shows a colt in it!  World War Supply is good for ww2 and Post war era stuff.
Civilize them with a Krag . . .
