Got the call Friday that my long awaited Schofields have finaly arrived at the Gun Shop.
Went up there to check them out and to make sure I was not dreaming.

They look good and everything funtioned ok. The serial numbers were one number away from being consecutive.

Now for the other hard part, waiting for the stupied waiting period to get my permits. They were suspost to notify me when they were shipped, so I would have my permit when the guns arrived.

Well at least the part about when they were gona show up is over. Cant wait to put some rounds though them.
It sure was hard walking away leaving them at the Gun shop!

They were ordered at Gateway Outfitters in St. Charles Mo. on Sept 19th 2006.

I got the Uberti #3's, 45LC, Blue, 7 inchers. Leather is Kirpatrick Long Hunter style holsters.

When I get the guns and figure out the picture posting thing, I will put up some pictures of them.

Jeez, the more I hear of "permits" and "waiting periods", the more I'm glad I live in Arizona.

You got that right Tubac.

Thats the biggest pile of crap they ever came up with. It only takes a few minutes to run your check but they make ya wait the 5 working days to get the permit for handguns. What really adds to it is Im an CSA and armed at work and they still make me wait.

Out here, once the background check goes through, the handgun is yours.
Of course, with all these &%$#@^&** Easterners moving out here I suspect that will change. :-(
Arizona has changed so much in the last 40 years, it would make you cry.

If you have an Arizona CCW, you don't even have to submit the background check.

It's a far cry from California, and a large part of the reason I moved here. As Tubac said, we have a lot of liberal state emmigrants here, and thing could change. We have kept our rights, and even gained a few, even with a Demo Governor (ess).

Been to Disneyland, Yosemite and San Diego Zoo/Seaworld. I'll pass on the rest of California.
Although everything north of Tucson is turning into California at a horrendous rate. The open desert were i used to hunt and shoot are now ten houses per acre stucco abominations. I guess I'm just a Zonie.

Update on Schofields.
Went today and picked them up at the gun shop. Gave them a cleaning took them out and shot 30 rounds though them.

They are a hoot to shoot!

I named them Zeb and Guss after two of my Pards that just past away this last week.

They both shot real well and Im very happy with them.

Cant wait to take Zeb and Guss to my next match.

Y'unz just remember that not all of us Easterners are like them pinko-wussy liberals out in California. In a real state like Pennsylvania, we don't have waiting periods and nonsense like that - and on the first day of hunting season, just about the whole state shuts down.

But then the liberals and their ilk in Philly and Pittsburg

went and elected our current Liberal Dem Governor to a second term. Who know's what evil we'll see next.

I am still waiting for those pictures of Zeb and Guss as well as your packing leather. You might consider opening a free photobucket account. It is very simple to use and solves the problem of posting pictures directly here although I am sure the moderator would help you do it.

Wow WEST those really look great. I never thought about getting a brace of schofelds, but those look great. The leather rig looks great too. Thank you for posting those pals of yours. There is nothing like seeing a picture to bring it all home. Have fun at the range.
