My new pet Uberti Wells Fargo schofield pic
« on: March 13, 2007, 04:32:02 AM »
Howdy,

Here is a pic of my new Wells Fargo Schofield I just got from Taylor's.

The ammo boxes are Cheyenne Pionner Products Schofield boxes (now available from Buffalo Arms), with period correct labels (I think Joss House posted) rubber cemented on them.

The attached Word document is a sheet with one of these labels on it.  I resized Joss's original to 105% to make a perfect fit.  I had to just put a single label on the sheet because of the 100 KB size restriction. Just copy and paste it two more on it. I just printed it on a color printer, cut them out, rubber cemented both the box and the label, and viola!  They were on.

I hope to shoot tonight after work!.

Now all I need is a period Winchester 44-40 label!

Thanks for the label posting.  Now all a need is some brass and I will be ready to reload Schofields.

I hope to see that .44 Russian lable soon.

Howdy,

Shot about 50 rounds last night.  As expected, using the blade in the bottom sight notch shot WAY low!  I used the sight notch to center the blade, but used the top of the wide "U" in the latch above the notch lined up with the top of the blade.  Kinda like a battle sight.

It worked realy well that way, and shooting off hand, duelist, I managed to bounce about 23 out of 25 pop cans at 10-15 yards.  It shot a little higher with the Black Hills 250 grain 45 Colt than with the 230 grain Schofield.  I figure I'll break it in a little before I group size it.

I really like the balance of the 5 inch more than the 7" I used to have.  I think I'll put some faux ivory grips (any suggestions?) and a lanyard ring I have on it, just because it looks cool!

Try Gripmaker in Carthage MO.  He is a shooter as well as a grip maker.   A real fine fellow too!!

Howdy Tuolumne Lawman,

I don't recall the labels you posted being part of my 'stash'. I've recently got a new computer and lost a lot of old images. I tried to post some labels but the file was too big so, I hope you don't mind, I sent you an email with an attachment of 44 Colt. 44 WCF and .44 Russian labels. Maybe you can resize them and post them here.

Joss

I am sure we would all be very appreciative of your efforts to resize labels and post them here.  The Schofield label posted by T. Lawman was great because it is correctly resized and ready to print, cut and paste.   Safe shooting.  Deadeye.

Qball,

Thanks,

I have the Cheyenne boxes like the first one you sent, but I really like the yellow one you sent second.  I think I will use either that or one that Joss sent me.

I will resixe and post the yellow one to be the correct size for the Cheyenne box.  I still need a little work on the ones Joss sent before I resize them.

They have rounded corners.

Howdy Joss,

Yep, I am working on them now.  I had to extract the master JPEG from the word doc, and crop out three separate smaller Jpeg.  Then I have to play with them and enlarge them to the proper size on there own word doc.
