I was just wondering is the new vaq. the same size as an SAA?  I can't seem to find the answer doing searches.

It's close, but not exactly. The grip frame is almost identical to the original Black Hawk 3 screws, often referred to as the XR-3. I believe a second or third Gen. Colt grip will fit it with a little work, not sure which it is, been awhile since I read anything on it. I have one and it's more comfortable to handle for me than the original larger Vaq. Your individual hand size will most likely be the determining factor for which Vaq version would be best for you...................Buck 8) ::) ;)
