Got a Tokarev? Want a period SMG to go with it? (Semi-auto version)
http://www.royaltigerimports.com/shop.html#!/~/product/category=2251802&id=9603895
Look for the one in 7.62x25 on the 2nd page of firearms, great deal IMHO. Nice video too. I've shot one of these, could not order it fast enough!
Bit of a stretch, but a lot of fun for a heckuva lot less than a Thompson. Rooshian Mafia . . .

Cool website! thanks.

"Komrade Kossack" has a nice ring to it.

Update: picked it up at my FFL xfer dealer today. Brought along some Lead Bullet handloads, basicly a case full of Trail Boss beneath a 100 grain Lee LRN, lubed with Lee Liquid alox. These will barely trickle out of ONE of my Tokarevs. (0ne has a weaker spring than the other it seems) Was surprised to find they cycled the PPS quite well, throwing the empty case a good 6 feet or so, no problems at all, no leading apparent. Great fun! Also had some 231 loads just a bit hotter (Will cycle BOTH of my Tokarevs) same bullet and lube. Again no problems in the PPS, case went maybe 8 feet. I'm all set!

That's great! Now we need pics of the whole shebang!

I've got a few with Donnie, see if I can get them up soon.
-
For what it's worth, the PPSH would fit into a late-1950s scenario/caper (like the TV series "CRIME STORY"). I tried poking around, but Korean War vets apparently smuggled some home and whenever they popped up in newspaper articles or police reports, they were referred to as a "Russian Burp Gun".
Must have been fairly useless after the 7.62 Tok ammo ran out.
-
I am considering getting one where it is has been turned into SBR by untigging the tigwelded but stock.
Nothing like a SBR with tax stamp included for like 700.00

Greetings!
Folks, I've got a PPS-43C coming: I'm in Colorado, and I need 15rd mags. Any sources that you know of?
Thanks Much!

-
I bet there aren't any 15 round mags and 30 round mags would have to e converted to 15. At least I didn't see any last year when I was looking. Dusty Boddams

also these http://www.country-spirit.com/shop/10-round-blocked-magazines/15-3-pps-43-762x25-blocked-10-round-magazines-with-pouch-ca-ct-md-ma-ny-legal.html
I suspect you could call and they could make 15 rounders.
-
DD, those mags are neat! I did not see anything like that when I bought mine.
-
Greetings!
"Country Spirit" looks doable; perhaps the next time I'm on International Waters,
I'll cut down a few...!
Thanks, Guys!

Greetings!
PPS-43C /9mmP ( All out of 7.62 T...) chambering in hand, and 'Country Spirit' is making three 15rd mags,
"as we speak". My pistol didn't come with any accessories; I'd like to find a source for an authentic / surplus
Cleaning Rod, Oil Bottles, and a Front Sight Adj. Tool...
Any ideas?
Thanks Mucho!

I know this an old tread...A search turned it up remembering (someone) Drydock ?
and posted it in the way back :)
Point is got to handle one today , first one I ever held and it is Uber cool .
This was chambered in 9MM ( a plus as 7.62 T is all but unobtanium ) course 9MM is kinda hard to find now ( Pandemic)
The other bad news, its stratospheric priced @ $699, these were $459- 499 just a year ago , probably should have got one then...
OH ! well .... still looks a hoot to shoot and a 1/2 the price of a Karr/Thompson
-
Is great fun!
-
I like the tank built like hell for stout build in steel !
No Zamak 5 and Polymer like GSG MP40 9mm ::)
I offered a deal, I'll know Tuesday if it is accepted :)
-
Bingo ...trade accepted
New to me PPS-43C is mine , shot it a bit ago ....eats Blazer ammo flawlessly
Came with two Magazines and an oiler can thingy , just ordered a un-used original sling and a surplus mag pouch.
I'm looking for with feelers out , a couple more 9MM mags
-
Don't be afraid to grab stock 7.62 magazines. 9mm works just fine in them as well.
-
Really ! I saw were Pioneer discourages the use in a warning ???
They say the 9MM being shorter and can cause the round to move forward and cause jams so now I'm some confused :-\
The gun is well made all steel and stout. I'm thinking Violin case or some such case **
** I had looked at the ATI MP40 (comes in cool crate *)
but I was not impressed by the cast zinc alloy the receiver is made from or the plastic pistol grip trigger guard
Beside the Videos on UT tube about it show jam'o''matic.
So far the PPS-43 has functioned fine... ;D

A discussion of a little accessory I greatly enjoy in the woods for potting Dillo's and Squirrels, easily removed for zoot.

I may down the road , pay the price of admission to SBR it, so I prolly would not do that accessory.
I did at your suggestion order three 7.62 Magazines with a mag pouch.
I also ordered and received an original sling and mag pouch....
The sling is in mint condition w/ manufacture marks, the pouch was listed in Very Good , Good, and fair condition .
They are sold out in Vg & good so I opted for fair and what I got was way above my expectation
Their claim, "fair" may be dirty , some fraying and missing buttons.
This was not the case ( no pun intended ) :)
no fraying at all , both buttons attached , and just bit of fading but clean also with military marks.
They advertise the PPS-43 Magazines, Three with Canvas Pouch, 35rd, Blued Steel, 7.62X25, as *Very Good*
based on my other purchase from them , I expect to be pleased , quick 2 day shipping too.
-
Just got an email from Classic Firearms yesterday (10/27/20) , these are back in stock now @ $649 ... that is almost double the retail of just a few years ago....
and $100 over the last listing in early 2020.
My guess they will sell out again.

I'm impressed with Apex Gun parts...Magazines arrived and look unused ( considering they are vintage 1944-45 )
Fit the PPS-43C perfectly, now if they feed , SCORE !
-
Annnnd, all gone at Classic.
-
check length of weapon, may need a viola case

That was quick, sold out in 3 days
Cpt. D B ... it's 25" OAl
...I found a Base Clarinet Bag that I'll adapt

This may or may not be of any interest & my apologies for Photoshop banners.
Here are modifications to convert the 7.62 Tokorev Mag to 9MM
A standard mag is so modified , by cutting the follower off as in photo # 1
The leg of the follow is then rewelded back shortening the follower length
a replacement spring is needed , I think they use a 33 Round Glock Mag spring and they pin an 1/8 " PVC buffer strip to the rear of the magazine....
I have been so far unable to find additional 9MM Mags but I did get the 7.64 T mags...
they work but not unless you have the 9MM Rounds all the way forward in the magazine ... so far I am not that comfortable they'll run reliably, Like the 9MM mags do .

The lastest[ nov 2020 issue 21) firearms news, has an add from (centerfire sytems} for the 762-25mm pps43c with 3 mags for $419.99. sarco lists broom handle strippers 10-$10.00. just a fyi.

For whatever it's worth, I vaguely remember tripping over some post-Korean War news blurbs from the 1950s, courtesy newspapers.com, of the rare criminal using a "Chinese burp gun". Take note, those of you portraying Dick Tracy style villains.
From a Poker Forum, an undated tale -
I recall one poker game I was sitting in, and two guys busted in the door and leveled a Russian or Chinese Burp Gun(a machine gun) on us! I quickly gave up my 2 to 3 hundred, and claimed that is all I had. I had more money in my sock. They were in a rush, because I have been in places where the robbers make everybody UNDRESS.
On the Burp Gun robbery, when the police came, they were more interested in the Burp Gun than anything. I told them if the catch the creeps I wanted my money back. Never happened.

When you weigh cost and ease of manufacture with the effectiveness of he weapon, the PPS-43 is perhaps the best SMG of WW2. You can make about 10 for the cost of just one Thompson, they weigh about half as much, the ammo is lighter yet still very effective as an SMG round, and they're very reliable SMG's. Really great WW2 SMG there, and a Cold War classic.
