Del, Bowling Green is in one of the areas. It isn't in Lancaster County but is a part of Caroline County.

Del, area in question is Lancaster county. It's between the Rapahannock(SP?) and Potomac where they come out at the Cheasapeake Bay. Annie hit a site last night or this morning that had an 1895 Atlas( sound familiar?) that showed Lancaster pretty good. No Caroline. I have references to the family being there as late as 1911( Uncle S.F. died there after being out west). Beginning to think "Caroline" refers to a Township, not a town. also hit the 1860 census off same site. Put in GGGF's name and got 1300+ hits. That name is like Smith! Not all were in VA, though. The top one on the list was at Halifax in 1860. Not sure where Halifax is in relation to Lancaster Co. sure didn't see one in 1895 Lancaster. There were a couple in Giles, which pops up in the history , but more than likely were grandchildren because of ages listed( below 60) I know Uncle W.H. had at least one named John and he evidently lived in the Giles area at one time before going west. the book's birth dates for the three brothers I have are from 1829(W.H.) to 1834( GGF), and 1835 (S.F.). Nine kids in that family! Guess crops weren't the only thing they were doing! fertile soil in VA GGGM was a Campbell. Thanks fer lookin' guys...........Buck
