Back at cha, Sir Charles.  I spent the day sighting in a new Hawken rifle, and tested some loads in my '76 Winchester.

Incidentally, I tried 13 gr. Herco with a 300 gr. BACo bullet, lubed with SPG.  I added a 1/2" plug of closed cell foam to keep the powder on the primer, and got good ignition and decent accuracy at 59 yds.

I'm glad it worked out for you. 8)

Well its Dominion Day again! This time it is in the middle of the week, but at least it is a day off. Hey! I'm retired sort - of, I can choose  my days off. (However- I am on an "on-Call list and got a call at 3 pm yesterday requiring follow-up tomorrow as well.)  For those Muricans to the South, their Great Day falls on a regular Saturday.

After the Day is Done, let us know what you got up to. Me, I'll likely go out to my drought stricken garden.

Here is an article about the changeover from Dominion Day to Canada Day. I was serving in the "First Horse" (1 RCHA) in Germany in the late '60s. Most Non-Canadians, poor souls, didn't understand our terminology, so we announced to everyone that it was CANADA DAY. Later on, the rest of the country followed!

P.S: It was "Dominion Day" during the ENTIRE time period that this forum commemorates.

Yeah, happy B'day to us! 148 years of 'modern history'. That's what the Germans told us we had at the time of our Centennial.
Along with "Du hast keine kiulture."

I said - "Yup - but we have flush toilets and central heating in our homes and we didn't destroy 6 million people between 1939-45 in concentration camps." That usually terminated the conversation.

I just hope we still have legal access to our guns on the occasion of our 150th.
"I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, I won't be laid a hand on.
I don't do these things to others and I require the same from them."  John Wayne

Happy 148th! I'm fully retired now. The weather in this part of Alberta was terrible today, it rained twice. I'm shooting 2 matches in Montana during the next 2 weeks so I spent the day building ammo for them.

A little late to the show, but I wish the same to all of you.

I spent the day building a new forestock for a friend's double 10 bore.  I choose my own days off too, but don't consider this 'work'.  In the evening, Heather and I drove to a little community south of my town to meet two Polish cyclists who are passing through.  Now they are here, and staying with us for a few days.

And to our friends south of the 49th, have a memorable and safe Independence Day tomorrow.

All you members of the greatest country on earth, as my American wife SWMBO expresses it, have a great Independence Day.

I have it on heard that interest on your outstanding tax bill might yet be waived!

Dominion Day is here again, for the 151st time. I love the old name, rather than the bland "Canada Day". Every day is Canada day for us here in in The True North Strong and Free.

Anyway, my Canuck friends and neighbours from around the world. Lets hear from you and let us know what's happning with you and yours.

Here in Prince George, we celebrate at our annual Black Powder Rendezvous - our 42nd consecutive shoot!  Good times, good companions, good shooting!!  It doesn't get better!

With the weird views of the WOKIES, Canada Day is under pressure as a total symbol of evil colonialism???? Statues toppled or desecrated and Celebrations canned. WTWCT? (What's the World coming too?)

Boy, it's quiet here! No parade, no nothing except a outdoor concert on our nearby park at Mount Tolmie. There is a fun-shoot at the range.

I wonder what things would be like if CANADA didn't exist and confederation never happened?

There were no parades around here yesterday but, we celebrated being the first province to allow public socializing without any masks, businesses are open again, no social distancing required.  Just like it was when we celebrated July 1st during 2019.
