Miroku Win 1873 .44 wcf cast bullet diameter

For those of you with the newer Winchester (Miroku) 1873 rifles in .44 wcf, I'm wondering what your barrel diameters have measured out as and what diameter of case bullets have you had best results with. 

I've been shooting several 92s and a Colt SAA for years but have a hankering to try an 1873.  The RCBS 200 grain .44 slug, sized to .428 has worked well for me in my current guns, almost exclusively over Unique powder.  I believe my SAA would allow .429 bullets in Winchester brass but I would feel better with some actual feedback from those shooting the newer Miroku rifles.

My preference would be for a straight gripped, 24" half round model although I know of a full oct one for sale nearby that is gently used.

 Mine works very well with .430 diameter bullets. It works ok with .429, but groups really tighten up with the .430.
 My 3rd gen Colt model p also gets along well with the .430 bullets, so it makes it really handy to just to load a batch of shells and not worry about which gun I'm loading.

I haven't slugged my barrel, but my old standby load with 0.428 bullets and 32 grains of FFg Olde Eynsford is quite accurate, at least a CAS type shooting requires.  I can easily and consistently ding our plates at 100 yards.

Just bought one of these (well, the money is on the way...then the rifle will be on it's way) - a 24" rifle. This info is useful as I've ordered dies and brass but I was stumped by bullet size. Sounds like a soft .429" should be a good starting point.

I love that RCBS 200 grainer, for ALL .44s (pistol or rifle).

Try the bullet as cast as it comes out about.430. Pan lube, or finger lube and if a loaded round chambers you are GTG.

Well, I ordered some Big Lube bullets from Mark Whyte and the biggest diameter he offered was .428" so that's what i got. Loaded them over 35g of FFg Ol' E. They shot better at 50 yard steel plates than my old eyes could see that silly brass bead front sight. (lol)

Glad to hear it worked out well for you.  I've done nothing to the rifle except install a Marbles tang sight, and it's quickly become my favorite.
