The literature I've been able to find about the full-sized version was, I think, misleading. Based on some of the lines, and especially those on the cylinder and the trigger guard, I believe these were to be mostly Pietta parts sourced, assembled, and finished by Pedersoli, and then sent to Texas where they were going to be tuned by those Longhunter folks. The literature mentioned that this was an "offering" by Pedersoli, built in Italy (didn't say Pedersoli), and "assembled" in Amarillo. Perhaps Pietta already had some sort of exclusive importation deal with EMF and others, and the Amarillo folks couldn't just import Piettas and tune them? So perhaps they convinced Pedersoli that the tuning work in Amarillo would be superior enough to warrant Pedersoli's involvement? I don't know. Evidently, it didn't work out, and all Pedersoli came out with was that scaled-down .38 special version which I suspect is nothing more than a Uberti lightning model .38 finished and/or licensed by Pedersoli. Even the exploded diagram of that revolver on Pedersoli's websight is basically identical to Uberti's diagram.
