I feel that we are missing the "boat" by not having a forum for SAA Italian Clones. :-\
Other than gunsmithing questions under that forum the other revolver specfic forums actually frown about posting concerning these pistolas.....and there are probably more of these in the hands of Cowboy shooters than any other type! When "Frontier Iron" was started I had high hopes that they would be included......but nope! The USFA members don't want 'em! The COLT group would lynch us for being on there :o And so on...........
So how about it Ol Marshall?

I'd vote YES.

I don't see why not?
I have both Colt's and Clones, or replicas.
To be truthful, I carry or shoot my Colt's in fair weather or when I know they'll stay safe.
I carry and shoot my replicas when I think they will be subject to some abuse.
The difference being value. My Colt's shoot good as do my replicas.
I'm very sure I use replicas 10x more than the Colt's.
-
I vote yes!
-
Even though I new here, I vote YES also! I have an original Colt and as mentioned above, it's not shot alot. Now as far as the replicas, I ride them hard and many times put them to bed dirty :o.
-
Yes!!!!!!!
-
I vote Yes! We want the new forum.
-
Absolutely yes.
-
Sounds good to me as I have a clone/reproduction.
-
I say yes, good idea.

Lotsa Colt SAA clones and I shoot all but the .38s with smoky cartridges, the way they were meant to shot. See, I am already turning the new forum exclusive! Funny how so many sites that should be inclusive do become exclusive due to snobbery! My favorites have been the pre-tuned ER versions by Cimmaron but I think at least one other outfit, the Taylors SmokeWagon, is now offering an equivalent. It is an expensive proposition but I do hope to convert mine to Birdshead grip models as time goes on. The checkered versions are not only very expensive but also very hard to come by.
-
Slowhand Bob, check with "Oklahoma Tom", he owns and operates "3B Shooting Supplys" out of Kaufman, Texas. He normally has the Taylor SmokeWagons in stock or can get them and he is very reasonable on his prices.
He is at the Shot Show and will be available on the 23rd, but he will probably answer emails.

Im all for it, but at the same time i cant help thinking things would be a lot easier with less running around if some of the forums were consolidated. Regardless this is the best site on the web.
-
Marshal was coerced into and forced to attend the Shot Show in Las Vegas this year and is there now wishing that he was back here attending to Cas City instead of there wasting time looking at all those shiny new guns and other outdoorsy kinds of things that he has no interest in. I'm sure that when he leaves the glaring obnoxious lights of Las Vegas and gets back home he'll check in with y'all. ;D :D

I vote for it. But then again, all my origianls are M1860s.
If we go with a SAA Clone forum, will there need to be a Remington clone forum also? And how about the Open Tops,
I think you can see what I am saying, too bad there are some snobs that are making the clones go to their own site.
-
So to keep things within reason, I could live with a Revolver Clone Forum.

Your missing out on STORM (Open Top Forum ) & SCORE ( Remington Site ) :)
-
I vote yes, too. Especially since I have a Uberti .44 spl in the mail. ;D I have some Colts, some Uberti's, some open tops and a Spencer (on backorder). I need another forum in which to spend more time . ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Yeppers, me too!

I know about the STORM forum and the SCORE one also. I was commenting on the fact that in those two sites, you can talk about replicas and no one gets all wadded up about it.
-
Ah ! ...your meaning went over my head then :)

Yeah, I sometimes have that effect on folks.

So is what you are really saying is that the boys on the COLT forum are snobby and mean spirited? ::)
I mean, gee whizz, the boys at STORM and SCORRS allow the clones..............
See Marshall, we do need a place to play, can we, can we, HUNH ;D

I was going for elitist, but your phrasing works too.

Hey folks!
I will look into this the coming week. Time is over due looking at the various boards that we have. Many are overlapping each other in terms of content and topics, so we might see some changes overall in terms of categorizing the boards. I will work with the moderators on this, so please don't expect immediate response. Thanks for your input.

I'll be waiting to see how this evolves......
-
This is a bit late but I vote for a new Forum on Colt SAA Clones.
-
Thanks Grapeshot!
We're patiently (not really) waiting ::)
-
That's a wild avatar Hoof Hearted. ;D
-
I am beginning to think the Marshall doesn't like me :'(
-
Haven't forgotten about this or any of the other suggestions.
We are in the middle of evaluating all boards and categories on the forum and will not add any new boards until we have the big picture.
-
Thanks for the update!
By the way I pm'd you a while back regarding sponsorship but haven't heard back........ ???
-
I would like to see a section for SAA clones too............ ;D!
-
Thanks Marshal. you are doing a great job, keepup the good work.

Single Action Army Clone Shooters. SAACS.
-or-
Italian Single Action Army Clone Shooters. ISAACS.
-
I think the proposal was sent to a Congressional committee for further study. ;D
Should have read the whole thing. This is good. ;)
-
Gald you did it and I am enjoying it.....have you thought about some kind of avatar for the group?

Well what comes to mind, immediately, would not be fit for the sensors....... :-X
How about starting a thread over there and we'll see what ya'll come up with.

Very glad to see this board become a reality.
I've always felt that the SAA Replicas need their own place. They have kept cowboy guns alive. I bought my first Uberti/ Iver Johnson Cattleman in 1974, and my oldest Uberti that I still own was bought in 1984, and is still in very good shape with countless rounds through it.
-
Count me in.
For those who like to see how close the clone is to the original see;
"Colt Single Action From Patterson to Peacemakers", by Dennis Adler.
-
I am all for it as well. Looking forward to this forum if and when it happens.
-
You don't know there is a forum now?????

I'm in the exact same position. I own a Colt SAA and several clones. I'm not concerned with diminishing the value of the Ubertis so they see far more holster time than my Colt. FWIW, I do hope to eventually outgrow this and use my Colt as intended.
-
It would be great if the moderators would put an avatar on the page, why not a Uberti or Pietta SAA?
-
a thumbs up from me as I have two Italien clones....and anyhow, even if I didn't I wouldn't see why not.
-
I am so confused. Some have been asking for a Colt SAA Clone (I hate the term "Clone") forum. We are currently posting on one. Right here in River City. Colt SAA Clone forum. Is someone unfamiliar with this forum's Header?? Can't Read?? Seems .................. STRANGE!!

Is a .45 LC Cimarron 1873 good enough for Gov't. work?
