Pistol Shoot at Jesse James's Farm April 22nd.
« on: February 27, 2006, 12:35:30 PM »
There is a pistol shoot at the Jesse James Farm in Kearney Missouri April 22nd.  Registration at 8:00 a.m. and Shooting begins at ~9:00.  This is pistol only, cap and ball, cartridge, or both. Single action fixed site only.   I will post more info when I get it.

p.s.  This is different than many shoots, about 6 on the line at once, firing at the same time.   It is kind of neat to shoot where Jesse and Frank may have practiced.

MoG, Thanks for the update. I was there a couple of years ago and had a great time. Just one question, is this a BP shoot or is that fad smokyless stuff allowed? Don't matter to me, but a friend or two may tag along this year and they haven't seen the light of the darkside just yet. TIA for the info.

I think as long as they are shooting a single action with fixed sites, it isn't a problem.   I only shoot cap and ball but always carry a box of .44-40 in my ammo box and those are cowboy loads but in smokeless.  I gave someone a few when they ran short one year.  In fact, I am positive smokeless is allowed.

Well, they scheduled one on a weekend when I don't have 11 other things going on!  Maybe I can make this one!

Sounds like a lot of fun. Does everyone dress up in their old west clothes? I plan to be there. Give me a chance to shoot my BP revolver(s). Not sure if I will shoot my 60 Army or my 58 Remmy.

They do dress up.   But they won't exclude you if you don't.   The fee was $15 the last time I shot.  I will update this when I get more info, especially if the $ changes.
