Buffalo Bill question
« on: November 19, 2017, 08:02:42 PM »
I've done some living history at the Leclaire Iowa Buffalo Bill Museum (Cody's Birthplace). They have a few guns
but don't have a trapdoor Springfield. I've been looking for a reasonably priced one to donate. At a gunshow
today I found a 1870 trapdoor, that the guy gave me a very good price because where it's going. I know
Buffalo Bill shot most of his buffs with Lucrecia Borgia, a 1866  Allen conversion, but does anyone know
if he ever used a 1870. The museum doesn't care model 66 or 70, but my own curiosity has me wondering.
I know Cody used a lot of guns, so I hope he used a model 70 ????

If you don't get a definitive answer here, perhaps someone at the BBHC in Cody could provide it.  Just a thought.
