Sharon Stone's jacket in QUCK & THE DEAD?
« on: April 27, 2004, 09:41:40 PM »
(Note; I realize this movie is NOT an example of historical authenticity).   ;)

Just caught this tonight again on TV and my wife was asking me about that jacket/makinjaw/poncho thing that Sharon Stone was wearing...what is that thing?  At times I thought it was a mexican serape, other times a jacket from LL Bean.... ???

Anyone get a good gander at it?  Is this based on any period/historical garment?

I don't think she could hit the broad side of a barn. You probably couldn't either if she was on your posse.  ;D

FloraBama Kid,
I mean the second one (the first is just a duster I reckon).  What is that thing?!?  Is that based on anything actually period (or even on some other B Western?)

Hey, btw, didn't I remember hearing that Stone was actually a gun-owner and enjoyed shooting until Columbine, then she had some tearful press conference where she madea  spectacle about giving up her guns (or something like that?)

Sharon Stone Disarms

by Joal Ryan
May 21, 1999, 8:45 AM PT

Suggested booking for Rosie O'Donnell: Sharon Stone.

A day after the Queen of Nice blasted Tom Selleck for being an NRA posterboy, Stone revealed she'd turned in her guns to police.

"Our world has changed and our children are in danger," the actress said in a statement Thursday. "I choose to surrender my right to bear arms in exchange for the peace of mind of doing the right thing." a d v e r t i s e m e n t

Los Angeles police, at Stone's request, confiscated one shotgun and three handguns from her Beverly Hills home on May 14. Authorities described the weapons as "lawfully obtained and legally kept."

Stone said she was moved to disarm by April's Columbine High massacre that left 15 people, including the two teen gunmen, dead. She asked other gun owners to similarly downsize.

"I urge you to trust and believe in your local law enforcement officers and believe in the courage of following your heart and surrendering your fear and anger," she said.

"911.......Your call is very important to us, please hold for the next available operator....."

Yeah, right Sharon.......let's see, wonder how many armed body guards you employ?

As Doc said in Tombstone, "My Hipocracy knows no bounds" ;)
Well..........Bye!

Although I didn't like the movie that much I really liked the clothing Gene Hackman wore.  I sure would like a suit like his :)

I did like this movie reguardless of how incorrect to history this may have been. And I would like to see Russell Crowe make another Western. I think he could be a "Downunder" Clint Eastwood.
