Greetings!
"A few years ago"( 90s? ), Navy Arms announced a new Henry replica that was reenforced for heavy
use by reenactors; my understanding is that the frame was beefed up somehow , to better take
the abuses of constant use, but my memory is fuzzy, and I'm uncertain of the specifics.
My question to those of you who have access to the esoterica of Italian Replica Arms is, what
exactly was done to make these more robust? Furthermore, has this practice been continued,
and / or been implemented to all other Brass-Framed, Italian made Henry replicas?

They had two steel rods about 1/8" diameter from butt plate to brass frame (through the stock), a cleaning rod trap door, and sling swivels. The rods show as silver dots on the brass butt plate.

When were these "Reenactors" guns made?? I have personally NEVER seen an 1860 Henry with rods thru the stock. ALL the Henry rifles I have worked on had two shiny silver dots showing in the Butt Plate. The little dots don't go anywhere. Just dots. Uberti production Henry rifles have always had a Trap Door and a space for a cleaning rod. NAVY contract guns did too.

Many of the Uberti guns without sling swivels do not have trap doors anymore. My .45 Colt non-military did not have trap door or the silver dots.
Also, I tried to remove the butt plate of one with the silver dots, and it had the rods.

I cannot say that I have ever seen these "silver dots" either. Except for the trap door hinge pin.
But then again I have not tried to remove every Henry butt plate I have inspected.
Where are these "silver dots" located, and how does that make the action stronger?

Look at the picture of the butt in this thread. the silver is the end of the steel rods through the stock.

Here are two photos of the butt plate from my Henry. Are we looking at the same silver spots? Mine are clearly the hinge for the trapdoor.

??? the pins you mention is the hinge pin for the cleaning rod door ....
What Uberti did in the Early nineties was beef up & lengthen the carrier & frame....the butt had no steel reinforced pins

I know this is an older thread but I think I may own one of the guns in question. I dont know about the supposed beefing up of these but just assumed they were the beginning of the longer framed guns. Mine is a Navy Arms gun made in '92 I believe. It is marked "N.S.S.A-A11 THROUGH 500"on the tang. I'm sure the N.S.S.A is for the North South skirmish association. More info that could be provided on this gun would be appreciated as I havent found much on the net. I've had it close to 20 years.
I think I had the buttplate off years ago and dont remember rods in the stock. I stripped the the stock of its Italian finish and restaiined it so I'm sure I would have noticed. I can always look again though. As stated the pins in the buttplate are for the trapdoor hinge on mine also.
