Title: SAA Base Pin Question
Post by: MikeM. on August 29, 2020, 09:02:47 AM
Will an original Colt base pin fit in my Uberti Revolver ? Just wanted to add some authenticity to my BP frame style Revolver and get rid of the safety notch....Thanks

:)  Depends   ;)  No, not those Depends.  Depends on the base pin and the specific frame.  Some will, some won't.  It's a crap shoot.  HOWEVER:

Chuck up the Uberti Base Pin in a padded vice, take off the last 3/16th of the base pin and seat it fully.  Can't tell it from a Colt and it no longer blocks the hammer fall.  Much much more cost effective than purchasing a Colt base pin.  Don't forget to dress the end for a nice smooth fit.

I tried the same thing and the Cold did not fit either my Uberti or Pietta guns.

But Uberti basepins fit Pietta on mine.

Just get a pin from Cimarron that doesn't have the safety notch. The last BP frame I got didn't have the safety notch base pin.
