Just got a late 1st Gen (1903)41Colt SAA that someone has completely blued sacrilige. Would you strip off the blued parts or leave it. Got it apart looks like all is good internally.
Thanks Doc

Internally is one thing - it's the external aspect that you need to assess.
Is the lettering sharp - and all the edges crisp, or has it been buffed and been left with a 'softened' look?
That's likely the case, and if so, then leave it as-is and use it as a shooter.
On the other hand, it may have merely been tank-dipped, and if everything is clean and crisp and not over-buffed, then get some 'Simichrome' and a soft cloth, and reduce the finish until you've 'silvered-out' the piece.
Without clear, close-up photos, it's impossible to say.
Scouts Out!

Found a shop in NC run by Dan Printz that does some nice work and he does bone and charcoal cch. So she is going to be a looker. Can't wait to get it done.

That's great. Please consider taking before and after pictures and post them here. I'm sure everyone would love to see them.
