Morning all,

Not much happening here.  Though I was saddled with fixing a Marlin 1894 at work, and it's turning into a job.  It only has a couple of parts, so I'll have to order all of them.  All said and told, I think the owner could find a used one in good condition for less.  (Who was the guy that decided a loading gate/spring need to cost $30?)
I told the guy this yesterday, and he told me "the Marlin '94 is the same rifle as the Winchester '94.  Just buy the parts off of an old Winchester and put them on."

No, just no.

Though I could be coming into a Ruger New Vaquero (45ACP convertible model) today.  I'll let y'all know!

TK,

You are correct... "No, Just no".

This sounds like a long term project of getting the proper period parts to fit that model Marlin 1894. They changed over the years and some of the newer made models maybe easier to get parts for than the older ones.
As a side note, the '94 Marin's and "94 Winchester's are not interchangeable.
My best,

Dang wife, next time she's going to the store, a bit of snow and it's getting cold, needed a few things cause I'm gonna make omelets for supper, Russ's stores all over town, local chain, I love them, was just gonna go to the smaller original one close to home, but no, they don't have the shredded Asiago cheese she wants, so I have to go to the "West End of Lincoln Yuppie Russ's" instead of my nice ghetto one.   >:(

OK, pick-up is blocked in by black SUV/Cross Over/Station Wagon thing, so I drive it.   Yep, every dang yuppie in town is stocking up on free range organic brown eggs, artisan bread and soy milk.    ::)

OK, what a mess, find my items, have to tell the lady twice I don't want to try her stupid chicken spinach sausage she's handing samples out for, smells worse than a fast food place.     :P

Lines are long, almost every register open, yes dip, it's nice you brought your cloth bags, let the sacker sag for you, you are stupidly slow. ::)

Get out there, black is a popular color for them things like she drives and they almost look alike, found it, was gonna open the door, was locked, hmm, look in, wrong junk on the dash. ???   Finally fine the right black roo-dee-voo and get in, count 14 black thingys in the parking lot, as I'm leaving 2 more of the dang things are coming in.  Next time I either go to the ghetto store on a nasty Sat afternoon, she goes or she moves her roo-dee-voo so I can take the Field Marshall, never have trouble finding it and the Prius type cars stay out of my way. ;D

Otherwise,how was your day,Del? ;D

Mine started out crappy, got into the pump house only to find the chlorinator had sprung a leak. Cracked fittings, had to have the full timer come down and help me sort it out while I looked for the replacements. got me kinda wet. :-\ ::)

The ham, mushroom and cheese omelets are great, I opted for sharp cheddar myself.

29, feels like 23 this morning. Semi-dark yet ::)

Bean soup turned out great. Even had enough to share some with the full-timer. When the girls have seconds, I know it's pretty good ;)

Afternoon y'all.

The doggone rain hit us.  Creek below my house is up about 4 feet above normal(officially in "flood" stage.).  Down the road a ways, the darn thing overwhelmed a culvert and ran across the highway.
Most other culverts are at their maximum, and the local VFD is running around everywhere with sand bags.  Ironically, the new road in they just put in town (the one that is supposed to survive if Noah comes back for an encore) is flooded for almost a mile, mud slides are almost closing one lane, and the dang thing is about to disconnect from the bridge.  Meanwhile, I'm baking cookies. ::)

In other news, I didn't get the Ruger.  Boss had to make an emergency trip to the City to make final arrangements for his trip to SHOT this week, so the store was closed.  Oh well.

Currently 11 with a WC of -7(BRRRRRR!)

We had to go out this afternoon and salt the roads, got kinda slick after we had some snow flurries. Put down 42 50lb. bags. While I was out doing that, Susie did the drive, but managed to slip and fall at the end of the drive before she was done. Same part of the drive that her sister ruined her right elbow on. So far Susie isn't complaining about being sore. She's in the tub soaking now, though ::) :-\

Federal holiday, post office not working. Will pay the price for a day off tomorrow, but in the meantime going outside to cut some firewood and other outdoor stuff. Sunny, mid 20's temperature. Holiday meal, got a pot of beans simmering on the back burner. Maybe get the wife to make up a batch of cornbread (she makes it better than me).

40 and drizzle here right now.  Supposed to make it to 46 with the drizzle quitting within the hour.  Between the warm temps and the rain most of the snow is gone down here in the valley, but the snow pack on the mountains is still about 110% of normal for this part of the year.  Even if this keeps up we will still need a couple three years to really break our drought.

Should be fairly dry by suppertime and I won’t get wet grilling the steaks.

Weather fine for woodcutting, but I've been interrupted by a frozen well house. There's a heater in there, but to much junk stored around the pressure tank caused cold spots. So far the pressure regulator is thawed, but there's still a pipe froze between the pump and pressure tank.

Took about 3 hours with 2 electric heaters to thaw out the well house. Busy day, in addition to the wood cutting and water thawing, had to get a new battery for the wife's car. Winter sure makes me tired......

Been a nice steady rain since about 9 AM.  Supposed to have wind this afternoon, gusting from 50 to 65 in some areas.  Currently about 40 heading to 46.
