So a few month ago I bought a 1884 trapdoor, it was a infantry rifle that had the stock cut down but the barrel wasn't. So the issues is that after firing a round, the case is swelled into the chamber and sticks into it where the ejector can't remove it requiring it to be pried out. then once the case is removed it shows imprinting where the case is grabbing on too and it does go around the entire casing, I thought it was a piece of brass that was left in there. I have some cases that came with the rifle that doesn't show the marks the other cases have. i will try and get photos of the chamber later.

Questions:
1.) What sort of ammo are you shooting in this rifle?
a.] Store bought factory ammo? If yes, which brand?
b.] Reloads?
If yes, did you load them yourself? If Yes: what powder did you use? What size and type of bullet did you use?
If No, Pull bullets and dump powder. Dispose of powder by mixing with water, let sit over night, dump resulting slurry on your lawn and hose are with more water.

For Trapdoros, Some folks advocate lightish loads of slow smokeless but I would most definitely want to
shoot BP loads with Lead bullets in your trapdoor.

The photos are not very clear but from your photos, I can't tell if there is any brass left in that chamber. If there is
brass left due to case separation that suggests that a possible overload was fired in your rifle.
At the very least it looks like a seriously good scrubbing of the chamber would be in order.
The next thing I would do is to see if there IS anything left in the chamber. A separated case mouth
(for instance) can be carefully removed without scratching up the chamber... If there is anything in there
do not go poking about with an awl, a screwdriver or the like...

the little mirrors provided in the first one help a lot.
borescopes like those could help determine what is actually in there.
If there isn't anything in there I would try to get a chamber casting.

You might want to see if you can find a headless shell extractor for the trapdoor Springfield, which are handy to have in "cases" like this. These were issued with the original rifles & carbines because of the balloon-head copper cases originally issued.

yeah i bought one and tried it, nothing came out so Im not sure now.

so after i still have the issue, and it down to two grooves in the chamber. I still don't have a clear image but t hats my finding. two grooves that are basically destroying my brass.

Sounds like someone ringed the chamber with improperly loaded ammunition. The barrel will have to be replaced.

Have it rechambered. A lot cheaper than rebarreling.

now would i be an idiot to reuse the brass that's been shot out of it and have the rings or are just pretty pieces of brass now?

Use it if the rings do not look to bad.
