Uniform Question for Ned: Where did you get the white uniform, or is it simply regular white pants and shirt? Hard to tell from the still photo earlier in the thread, since the bright sunlight pretty well washed out any details.

Good morning, Pony!
The white shirt is just a band collar white shirt I had made years ago.  I can't find anything in the 1875 regulations about a specific shirt other than it was supposed to be white.  The white trousers are Marine/Navy white summer trousers from Milk Creek Mercantile.  I also had them make me an 1875 Undress Coat, but it needs alterations.  (I don't think I'd have wanted to wear it in 105 degree weather anyway!)  By next year I should have the complete Undress uniform complete with white sword belt.

OK, I wasn't sure if it was a shirt, or more of a white tunic.....but thinking back, I guess the suspenders would indicate shirt...

Colonel Pitspitr,

An excellent report.  It looks like everyone had a great time, heat notwithstanding.  Wish I could have been there but health problems prevented me from making the journey as you know.  However, I'm already planning on next year when I can drive out for a good visit.

Good to hear from you sir. I'll gladly take the field rations to see ya there!

Y'know Del, it might be a good idea to have one (1) meal like that, just to give folks a taste of 19th century field eats.  We're using the guns, uniforms, and other field gear, why not a sample of the food?

Well pretty much everything we have would have been seen while in post, the other is more field rations.

Besides the field rations might not set well with us, you did notice Camp Pitspiter has only one of those little buildings. ;)

I finally got my photos from the Muster downloaded from the camera and renamed, then uploaded to photo bucket.  It took 8-1/2 hours to upload the 254 photos.  I might go back and add some captions later but for now follow this link to the photos http://s253.photobucket.com/albums/hh56/cowtownscout/2012%20DOMM/ and I suggest you view it as a slide show.  Believe it has photos of everyone who was in attendance.  Also gives some good looks at this type of a match with views of the targets as we saw them plus some up close views of how they are made.  It also has some views of the land where this great event takes place.  Hope you enjoy and sorry it has taken me so long.  Maybe next weekend I can do the same with all the sightseeing I did on my way to Denver and the on the way home.

Del, you should know by now that hard tack is for the enlisted men.  Officers get cornbread!   ;D

But I expect biscuits and gravy for breakfast.

We will do that, the sausage will come from the Corner Market in Sargent, good stuff.  But if I can have some beets ready at the right tim, you must try that red flannel hash, it is dang good and very period.

Sounds like a grand time.  Maybe next year or the following.  Looks like I need to invest in a couple hundred more Krag brass.
EEM match may be a good excuse to get the 03 springfield I have always wanted.  Good news is I have plenty of 06 brass most of which has been fired less than 3 times from the M1.  Should be good for once or twice more from a bolt gun is I neck size after first shot.

Is there a place to hide a 5th Wheel other than down range?  Could actually sleep on the ground during the event, but it is nice to have a dry place to keep the clothes not on my back.

Yep, depending on ground clearance a fifth whell shouldn't be a problem, but this year staying dry wasn't too much of a problem unless you count sweat.  ::) I take my fifth wheel stock trailer and flat bed up there.
