So you ordered the 1860 R-M in .38? (army grip, round 8" barrel) , not the 1851 R-M (Navy grip, octagonal 7 1/2" barrel)?

Yes, it was what was available in Canuckistan. I have an 8" 1871 in .45 also with the army grip.

Abilene, would you know if or what aftermarket grips fit the Uberti army frames. I don't see Ubertis listed among the grip makers I have looked at, one said he had no idea. I believe a set of stag grips would look good with the nickel .38.

Well if the guy who makes the grips can't tell you what they fit, then that says something about that guy. Virtually every '60 Army grip maker is making them for Pietta/Uberti. Fitting will be required.
