Abilene - any update on the 1876 NWMP rifle?

I make O-5 (CDR in USCG) this July and this rifle will be my present to myself once it is available.

Howdy Pony,
Uberti says the '76 carbine and the Burgess will be shipping this summer.  But keep in mind that what they say and what happens are not always one and the same!  If you aren't already on the backorder list, you should do so.  The first shipment probably won't last long.  I always recommend folks have their dealer get on the backorder list for things like this.  There is no down payment required and no obligation if you don't want it when they do show up.

Good luck!

A quick goggle search show the first patent date on the Burgess as 7 Jan 1873...  And wasn't Billy the Kid known to carry a Burgess???

According to my 5th Edition Flayderman's, the Colt-Burgess was made between 1883 & 1885.  Patent dates on the bbl. are from 1873 to 1882.

Too late for you Bill!  Pretty neat though!  ::)  ;D  ;D

I am getting soo frustrated. >:(  I want to trade a gun and order a gun from Cimmaron (Either a type 2 or a cavalry model or maybe even just a old frame model P 7 1/2") but the dealers around here say they can't get answers. They all want me to call to see if things are in stock. From what I understand, like with Taylor's a dealer will get a cheaper price than I will over the phone. What do you guys do?

Sure, they'll get a cheaper price quote - but all you need to do is find out availability - then have your dealer order one up if they are in stock. I'm not sure they will honor your request though if you aren't a dealer.....never hurts to call though!

I never have any problem getting an answer about in stock items when I call Cimarron. Who are they calling?

I have no idea there Brass, that is just the excuse I get. It may be they just want me to do the leg work. (Gun dealers are few and far in between around here. And the ones that are within driving distance don't deal much now because of the high volumes of guns being sold.) I will try to call Cimarron Monday. I've called Navy Arms and was refered to Taylor's who in turn refered me to Cimarron.  ???

Navy Arms and Taylor's were real nice to talk to.
