Most folks don't even bat an eye at open carry, there a some here. I will amend that, people do stare when I wear the .44, but it is in a really nice cross draw. It demands attention.

As for the cops around here, small town, and we sorta all know of each other. I've made several holsters for them.

I carry an S&W Airweight in .38 spl. The SAA is just a little too bulky for everyday carry.

I was going to post a picture but my attachment is too large they say! ::)

Don't carry a revolver, but do use a single action .45 Long Colt at the bedside during the night.
I used to have a .45 automatic there, but switched to the revolver for the nightstand. Because I'm not worried about losing a gunfight. But these days I could easily lose in court afterwards.

Carry anything you want as long as you'd be just as comfortable not going armed at all. The saa was never meant as a ccw gun though. If you wanna live history carry a 642 more 38 double actions were made than all saa's old and new.

…that can put 5 rounds into a coffee cup in two seconds at seven yards.....

As always, ymmv

My dear Professor,

What you suggest is a mere parlor trick and probably not useful in a social situation. However, place those same five rounds into 5 separate coffee cups in the time mentioned and you might be @ble to handle a social encounter.

I carry a Ruger Vaquero in 40S&W in a Mernickle holster. Let’s me carry 6 safely, and reloads are easy when you use a Glock 22 magazine as a speed loader.
Announcing your plans is a good way to hear God laugh.
