Ther are a few more details to report.
The turn onto Fort Ave. is never marked all that well, but to ad insult to injury there is road construction going on right now.  Fort Avenue starts right accross Highway 11 from a little blue cement block house in Elyria. Elyria isn't a big village and highway 11 just catches the corner of town so you won't want to blink or you might miss it. ;) Also the Park personel have implemented a new policy by which the users of the barrack must clean it up afterwards. So If any of you can stick around to help sweep and mop I sure would appreciate it. It shouldn't take too long to do if there's more than 2 of us.

Excellent plan. No wonder they're making you an officer.

Texas Sarge,  Yep, I know right where it is. I moved to Missouri from Carrizo Springs in 88.  Haven't been the same since. Too many Yankees and too derned much humidity. Winters are almost as nice since my wife is from Iowa.

Just don't forget, RG; just because you're gonna be an off-i-squirt don't mean that all you have to do is SUPERVISE the clean up!

Texas Sarge,
OOOOH.... the Hill Country.  I have so wanted to get down there in the spring.  I had kin that lived down there (Great-Grandpa's Cuzzin, or sumpin) He was the postmaster of a town called Bugscuffle, down there by Lost Maples Park.  He didn't like the name, so he changed to name of the post office; named it after himself - Vanderpool.  There's another town by that name, right on the Va/WVa border (near Monterrey) - he was kin, too.

Time to shift gears, & reequip for the Wild Bunch side match. I took my P08 & FR7 to the range & tried a few shots. FR7, no problem. P08, problem with 1 magazine, 50% of the rounds stove piped instead of chambering. I guess, I will bring old ugly. My Ballester Molina.

To All eGoimg To Grand Muster:

Texas Sarge arrived at the Fort about 1900 tonight and found no one around.  Upon close inspection found the baracks open and unloaded.  The road to turn to from Hwy 11 is very difficult to find due to the road construction, but right before it there is a sign showing three miles to the State Park.
Came back to Ord to eat and found this internet connection at the McDonalds.
The Fort look like a great place to stay.

See ya'll later

I'm getting ready to pack the van now.  Just finished doubleor triple checking the ammobox to see that I have enoght along.  Can't deciede wich guns to bring so I will bring a variety.  Looking forward to staying in the barraks and seeing the fort again , but mostly looking forward to the shooting and seeing everybody.  Should be there late morning.  I asume that we should report directly to the range?   See ya thee.

We all had agreat time. I didn't shoot because my shoulder ia still stiff and sorem from the shingles. I drove all night Wednesday and got to Ord about 0300. I slept in my truck till 0500 and got braekfast at McDonlds. I drove out to theFort. There is  no marker to tell you to turn off Hwy 11. Texas Sarge, Scooter, and myself were the only ones at the Fort until late Thursday.  I left about 1 pm today and drove to Lincoln tto spend the night. I'm meeting Del down at the FORT to look at some Hats that are big ennough to fit my and a frock coat in my size. He's gonna give me a dime tour of the store. Then I'm drivin' to Wichita tomorrow and spend the night and see some friends. I should be home tomorrow evening.  Fort Harstuff is a neat place. We slept in the Barracks. No electricity or running water or facilites. You had to walk about 50 yards to the bathroom. No showers either. But all in all it was a great experience. Del's food was outstanding, I ate like a PIG. I stayed around the Barracks and talked to DEL during shoots. They are supposed to have it there again next year. Now that I'm an old retired cop and I have a flexible schedule, so 'm going back. I checked the MPG on my GMC, so far it is averaging  25.5 mpg.  The only problem is that it takes a 100. to fill it.   That's all for now, reporting from the road, Texas Lawdog.

Hello!
I hope everyone had a good time.  I know I did!  My only regret was that I wasn't able to spend more time in visiting after the shooting was over for the day.  I'm going to make sure I do better scheduling next year to rectify that problem.  Thanks to all who graced our range!
