I bought the Schofield that what used in the article for the cowboy chron. (I was told it was the one.) After having it I had to try blackpowder in it even though I was told it didnt work well in this gun. And sure enough she would bind up after a bit.
Well I tore the gun down to try something that helped a walker that struggled with black I have. I took 600grit paper and pollished inside and outside of the pin the cylinder spins on. It worked! I ran an entire match with very heavy blackpowder loads no problems.
The only things I do a bit out different than when I run smokeless is I dip the backside of my lead in a mixture of beeswax and oil. ( makes a thin grease cookie) and i wiped off the cylinder once or twice during the match with a rag and baristol.
Though some of the Schofield guys might be interested.
