Thanks for sharing so much excellent information.

About a month ago my 2+ year goal of owning a Spencer on 56-50 came true. I am now the proud owner of a gently used Armi-Sport Spencer Carbine.
The Rifle came with Starline brass, Lyman dies, an RCBS mould, and notes from the previous owner.
Because of the information posted here I now have RCBS dies. A good friend sent me a dozen bullets cast from 51-350S Accurate mould. Crimped in the crimp groove they fed but not very well. Based on all I read posted here I kept increasing the OAL until it now feeds smooth as silk.
My carbine loves an OAL of 1.600" As soon as I slug the barrel I'll have a mould on order and can start using the information here to develop a smokeless load to compliment a traditional black powder load.

Just wanted to say thank you for all the valuable assistance I received.

Sedalia Dave-
How was the accuracy of the 51-350S bullets?

Still waiting on my mould to arrive. Once it does I'll post an update.

Got my mould from Accurate moulds. Ordered a 4 cavity with 2 cavities to drop the 51-320S and 2 cavities to drop a modified 51-350S
Had them modify the 51-350S by removing the crimp groove to facilitate crimping the round to achieve an 1.6" OAL.
Sized to .512 and lubed with LBT Blue.
23.5 grains of 4227

Still need to put it on paper but took it to my local NCOWS match Saturday and only had 2 misses off hand with 12"X18" targets at @60 yards. Both times most likely my fault and not the rifles.

Need to take pictures the next time it happens for clarification but locked the action up twice. Both times I was cycling the lever fairly fast and I suspect it may have been too fast. To get it unjammed I had to remove the magazine plunger and push the round back into the mag tube before the lever would move. Next time it happens I'll stop and take pictures.

Here are two videos of me shooting it.  Sorry about the huge grin I couldn't help myself.  ;D  ;D  ;D

This video ended up in two parts.
