I am new to these 3rd gen. Colt 1860 Armies.
Have a question for the owners of such percussion revolvers.
It is about the backstrap.
Is the steel backstrap a cast or welded together from parts?
Thanks,
Long Johns Wolf

Hi LJW
The Backstrap is a standard Uberti Backstrap. I believe them to be cast as they show separation marks from a mold.
