I am not into wild bunch shooting. Currently do not even own a .45 auto, but Santa brought me a box of .45 acp ammo, so now I'm shopping for something to shoot it in.

Discovered just today that Cimarron makes a 1911A1, so I went searching for this thread just to see how well the Cimarron is liked. I own a few Cimarron six shooters, so I know and trust the brand. If the 1911 is true to the brand I will probably see if my local dealer can get one.

The gun does has "1911-A1" stamped on the right side of the frame, but it is NOT actually an A1.  It is a true 1911 frame (doesn't have the scoops behind the triggerguard) with some A1 features.  These are made by Armscor who make very good guns for the price.  My nickled gun lost the front sight last year and I have not gotten around to getting it replaced, since I still have the polished blue model to shoot.

BTW, all the pics I have posted on CasCity for several years, the pics that are hosted on my website, do not show up any more.  Including my pics in this topic.  I don't know why.  But if you right click on the empty square and then click on "open image in new tab" then they show up fine.

Armscor makes several 1911 variants, even a double stack 45ACP.
They make both frames, though I think Cimarron only offers the 1911 frame (not the A1 frame)

Okay. I contacted my favorite dealer about getting one of those Cimarron 1911s. He said he could get one, but he already has a TISAS 1911 in stock, so it came home with me. Those 1911s are a different animal from any other semi-auto I've had experience with, but I am beginning to like it. A LOT.

The TISAS 1911 is made in Turkey, Rural King has them for $399

https://www.rkguns.com/sds-imports-us-army-5-barrel-45-acp-7-1-rounds-1911a1.html

They also carry the Rock Island/Armscor at $399
https://www.rkguns.com/rock-island-armory-gi-standard-fs-45-auto-full-size-pistol-51421.html

and the Armscor @ $439 (which is the same Armscor
Manufacture with Checkered G10 Grips)

https://www.rkguns.com/armscor-1911-45-acp-pistol-5-8-1-56446.html

The Cimarron runs about $100-150 north of that, and higher for the polish blue or Nickle.

All , Tisas, Rock Island-Armscor and another The Girsan 1911 (also made in Turkey) have had good reviews.

I actually came dangerously close to springing for @ Tisas GI when it was on sale last month @ $349,99
at Rural King " Just cause  ::) it was a screaming deal !
... Only thing was the closest RK is about 70 miles, so I procrastinated. ???
call it " a flaw in my character"  ::)

That's current and fair market, you did fine.

The Rural King sale was just a few days and 75 miles away . I was tempted because of the sale price... but thats just the Gun a holic in me.

I'm glad I procrastinated, a week or so later a circa 1910 - 07 Savage auto was consigned at my friendly LGS.

1911's I had,,,but the Savage was unique

Well, that's nice for other purposes but a polymer frame will not be legal for a Wild Bunch 1911.

update: Major 2 alerted me that the post that I was responding to has been removed as spam.  It looked kind of spammy to me but the guy (?) had signed up 2 years ago on CasCity, so I wasn't sure.

I humbly suggest that user Kaida is an AI spambot, especially after the link to 80% plastic glock frames.
