Post by: Dr. Bob on May 15, 2006, 04:59:30 PM
Howdy,

In this mornings Kansas City Star there is the report that the St. George Hotel in Weston, MO has been "remmodeled -- with a decor befitting an antebellum town."  The St. George was built in 1847 and is located at 500 Main St.  It is being operated as a bed and breakfast, has a sandwich and coffee shop, meeting rooms and catered services.  Phone 816-640-9902

Weston is located on the Missouri River opposite Ft. Leavenworth, KS and was connected by a ferry in the 1840's.  Weston, Leavenworth and the surrounding area has many antique shops, museums, the McCormic distillery, and is the tobacco capitol of western Missouri.  It is about 25 miles north of Kansas City, MO, 5 miles from Leavenworth and 5 miles from I-29.
