Title: Convention seminars
Post by: bear tooth billy on November 17, 2016, 07:11:28 PM
We have a couple of seminars set up so far, and a couple more in the works. If anyone has
any ideas about something they would like to see, or if you would like to put on a seminar please
step up. We want to have all seminars and schedule set to be in the winter issue of the SHOOTIST.
A couple that I've enjoyed doing in the past were; the history of the hide hunting era, and reloading
for the long range BP rifle. I would be willing to do one of those if there is interest. Any thing for the
Ladies would be really appreciated.   Thanks

I just returned from the Rock Island Auction preview day. Wow it was a kid in the candy store feeling again.
I talked to the owner and two V.P.s about sending over a couple of people to do a seminar on antique gun
collecting, probably on Friday afternoon, at the 2017 convention. This was my highest priority seminar to
get lined up, so I'm pumped. They have been extremely helpful to our group. Let's get some ENTHUSIASM rolling
for next years event

WOW! That sounds great. The tour of the arsenal was one of the hi-lights of the convention for me.

Billy,  High Card said he would do another one on old west gambling.  This year it will be about cheating!

Billy, the Rock Island seminar sounds great as does the one High Card will be putting on.
I really enjoyed the one you did on bp reloading for long range rifle. That might be a good one to put on if you have time.
I can send you some contacts for door prizes again if you like.
Sierra Sue and I are looking forward to attending.

Work & Ranch will not come unless they can get their whole trailer inside the main hall and
unfortunately it won't fit in this facility either sorry. On the other hand I think we had plenty of
clothing vendors last year, and they did well and I believe they will be back.

Billy, don't know if there would be any interest, but I have a friend whom does a living history impression of Anna Jackson, Stonewall Jackson's wife.
She is a published author that writes mostly Civil War era books.
I can send you here contact information if you think there would be any interest in here doing this for a seminar or at the Ladies Tea.

J.W. I'm working on getting a lady to do a Annie Oakley seminar, this would be our last seminar (if it works out)
Pam thought the lady you're talking about would be good at the ladies tea. Is she a member? would she come
this far?

I got the last seminar set up, The life and times of Annie Oakley and Frank Butler. You can see
all the seminars on the web site now. I think we have a very good lineup, with much interest
for everyone.

My wife and I are both members and will be there, our son who is a special need person will be with us and we can't leave him alone and both the wife and I want to go to some of the seminars. Can he come to the seminars with us?

Please note, this is a year old post,  I have next years (2018) seminar list on the website. I could use
someone to be ready for a backup. Last year we had a death and a bad accident 3 days before the
convention. I'm very much looking forward to seeing everyone at the 2018 convention. And yes
everyone is welcome at the seminars, last year we had 330 paid walkins, plus the conventioneers.
