Expected rain at 70% the next coupla days, Yesterday was nice with just scattered showers .
Got my 30-06 brass loaded and tried the new to me 03 Springfield out.
I settled on a load of Tralboss and a 165 grain high-tech coated bullet that seems to shoot quite well.

My youngest Grand daughter got baptized this morning, She did NOT like the cold water, Had a gathering afterward with food and such. I have to ask, when did people stop dressing for church? There were people in shorts and tee shirts looking like they just rolled out of bed. It just seems wrong to me.

Our church runs the full range- from shorts and mostly sport shirts to suits and ties. Not to rule out Camo. I don?t think Jesus minds if you are there for the right reasons.

Coffee is up...

Weather guessers say we may get a little more rain around noon today.  Not a complaint from me.

Thanks fer the coffee.

I usually wear a dress shirt, wool sport coat, boots and jeans for church.

I?d have to look but I think it was H4895 that I had good results with a 150 grain hardcast bullet for my .30-30.

That is about the same church clothes I wear- I do own a (singular) suit also

I use Trailboss and a bullet cast from a Lyman mold, I think it's about 190gr for my 30-40 and 30-06 GAF loads.

Nice jeans and polo shirt for Sunday church, with a pair of lace up ankle boots I keep polished.

Morning all.

Oddly warm yesterday and today here at the base of the Beartooths. Supposed to hit 70 today, then drop to 20 tonight, with snow and ice, accumulating 10-16 inches by Thursday. I went and did a quick function check on the 4 wheel drive in my truck, and everything worked normally. Now just have to get the oil changed and it'll be winter ready.

Marshal Hangtree,
Who is the man in your profile picture?

Slim

Hey Slim,

The man in my profile picture came off the album cover for the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's 1972 landmark album "Will the Circle Be Unbroken", or more commonly known as the "Circle Album".  The picture is reported to be that of Admiral David Dixon Porter.  I have just always admired that picture.

Promoted as the second U.S. Navy officer ever to attain the rank of admiral, after his adoptive brother David G. Admiral David Dixon Porter was  the son of Captain David Porter who held the honorary title of commodore.
David (James) Glasgow Farragut was indeed a ward of Commodore Porter.
Currently there is an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer named for both of them and the 5th ship to carry their name.

Another son William David Porter was a flag officer  a ship named for him was lost to a kamikaze"Val" dive bomber ae Okinawa.

I was going to look in the Brady collection at the admiral's. ;D

Went back to Dr today, did chest x-ray, no pneumonia, no on that bad fungus going around.
Got second round of antibiotics, am doing better.  Was a small spot showed on right lobe.

She says likey calcification, not a problem If it is, not uncommon for an old welder, painter, body man who smokes lightly.

Going to get a MRI to be sure, if it's worse we caught it early.

You know how I always say I love our local chain groceries?  Went and got groceries, bagger came over and bagged and carried out.  As we got them in the car I noticed his name tag.  Asked him if they were that short of baggers today.  He said no, he needed the exercise and it was good to be able to do any job if he had to.

Told him his dad always said the same, was Pat Raybould, son of the founder and present CEO.

One of many reasons I shop there.

Had our last good weather day for the next ten days.  Today was a high of 76, and tomorrow is only getting to a high of 52.  Followed by a low of 23 the net two nights.

At the same time we are under a Red Flag Warning for the next two days, due to low humidity and high winds.  Until then we are to follow the following recommendations:

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Avoid outdoor activities that can cause a spark near dry
vegetation, such as yard work, target shooting, or campfires.
Follow local fire restrictions. Check weather.gov/reno for
updates and livingwithfire.info for preparedness tips.

Need some rain!  None in the forecast.  :P
