Ok.....How many of you wear spurs when you shoot?  I haven't made up my mind about them yet.

Sometimes. If there is to be a lot of movement, I don't wear them.(have enough trouble walking without them). If most stages don't have a lot of movement, I will wear them. They do look good!

I like a woman who wears spurs. It sort of adds incentive to the game.

I have had to wear them with one of my geldings that I used to work cattle off of...
That stubborn devil would try the damnest tricks if you just didn't give him a slight spur warning every now and then..
Good cow horse... but onry.
Hmmmmm~~  seems I have to do that to the Marshal once and awhile lately to get his attention too.

These ared the ones I'm looking at.  They are a little fancy, but I like the style.  Kinda Mexican.  They are 46 bucks out the door and come with straps.

At that price you should buy them. They're real pretty. Just practice walking/running with them on so you don't fall and spur yourself by accident.

Kid, come to think ot it, that price is real good for spurs that look that nice and come with the leather too. Why don't you tell us were you're getting them from so we can benefit as well.

I'll check tommorow when I get back to work but that seems a bit high for that combo, I think I have them for less, but no big deal.  What I do is always do some explainin' to anyone who don't seem like they've worn spurs before.  Remember stairs and curbs are the most dangerous fer a greenhorn. ;D

I wear them at all the shoots, once your use to them, they aren't a problem, just don't get the 3 inch rowels if you expect to be going up any stairs....

Wymore:  Go back to the first page of this thread and have a look at the ones I'm thinking about getting.  They are a little fancy, but I like the style.

Howdy,

The leathers supplied with these pacific rim spurs are not really suited for wearing.
Look at Wild West Mercantiles or other regular CAS suppliers who will stand behind their wares.  PR7 is an ebay vendor.

Adios,

Thank you for being you.. Annie Lee!

I've worn spurs fer the last three years of CAS. Once ya git used ta 'em ya don't even know ya have 'em on. But, as stated before, watch them stairs. I kinda walk sideways goin' down 'em. I have a set similar to those.

Adios,

I checked Wild West Mercantile.  They have the same spurs I'm looking at......for 8 bucks and change more. WWM straps do look a sight better though.

My last item is boots. I want cavalry boots, but, I need to rob a bank to get them. I have a well worn pair of plain tan Nacona work boots that look good. Did cowboys wear a pointed style of boot in the 1870's/1880's? Thx.
