1898 Krag at local gun store
« on: December 23, 2011, 05:42:12 AM »
Found an all original 1898 Krag in gun store with a very good to maybe excellent bore.

The sutler desires 875.00

Is that a good price?

I am assuming it is a rifle and not a sporter version and  if all original and the rest of the gun is in good shape, then yes that is a fair price for sure.

Thanks DD

Nope not sporterized at all.

All original.

I was really suprised with the niceness of the bore.

After my trip to the store in Middleburg - I may just have to procur the Krag - but want to visit store in Middleburg first...

There's an old adage collecters know that you 'may' want to keep in mind.

'If You Snooze - You Lose'.

I'd ask the guy if he could do better on the price for cash.

I'd Wave 7 100 dollar bills at him, and work it from there, but if its uncut with a good bore, thats a good price.
Civilize them with a Krag . . .
