After some difficulty I was able to purchase the M1909 revolver I asked about some time back. It's not a museum piece, but is in good condition, clean bore, and all the parts match. It has the proper government markings. It will make a nice touch for a Vera Cruz/Punative Expedition/Early Naval Aviator impression.
I would like to add an M1909 pistol belt, but have not found a reproduction. WPG makes a .38 cal. version of the belt. Schipperfabrik just informed me that they are also making a version, but Heather was uncertain of the caliber. I understand that the ammunition pockets on the belts are of different size. If necessary, I'll get the .38 version and carry fewer rounds.
I've ordered an M1909 holster from WPG and may have a Navy version made by a local leathercrafter.
