and a roper wallet i made. yes its a tandy kit. last time i made one of these i did a double loop lace and the lace broke after 6 months of use. this time i decided to lace it this way thinking the lace will have less chance of breaking.
while toolling this i decided to not make the basketweave border even to the edge of the wallet. i just drew lines on the leather then carved it. looks better to me without being even to edge of wallet

thanks all. I now know taking Chan Geer's class was worth it. I am now fairly comefortable with doing flowers on leather.
before Chan's classes i would only do oak leaves. now i can do both.

That's pretty cool, JD. It looks like it'll do the job just fine. The color is good. The bullet stop under the loops puts them at the right height. Nice work.

Thanks for the positive comments guys, but I posted that slide in the wrong spot; I moved it over to the Show Ye Stuff thread to go with the holsters & belt that I made it for.

BhB, Tandy makes a kit, which is just vey small screws and some washers to attach any screw back conchos to snaps or most anything else. I don't generally use the washers, so it's just a matter of finding some small screws.

Hey knucklehead, dang nice looking wallet.  I really like the basket weave done like that.  It adds a lot of interest instead of the standard square block on most wallets.

Down the road from me there is a Keystone Ranch - must be a popular name. ;)
