I was over on the N-SSA board and a guy is selling a 1884 45-70 trapdoor rifle for $650!

Not a bad price at all if its a decent shooter.  I'd offer him $500 and go from there.  TD prices were really going up a few years ago, it would have been considered a steal before the recession.  Good GAF rifle here folks.
Civilize them with a Krag . . .

If you look long enough a pretty decent shape rifle can be had for around $700 - $800. I picked up a couple about two years ago. I'd rate that one at a $500.00 rifle, but I'm fussy....to each his own  ;)

When I was young and foolish (pre-CAS/Civil War days) and had an FFL I took an 1884 model trapdoor in trade for a $350 gun I was selling.  It had a relatively pristine bore, cartouches and would be almost museum worthy.  I sold it for about $800, so I made a profit, but wish I had it now!
