Already got the time off from work arranged. ;D
-
Happy to see not the 10-11, previous commitment. Will need to load some more 50/70.
Screw it, latest research indicates my PPE (face shield) ineffective, so won’t wear either face mask or shield.
Only will wear PPE in my county to enter business or entering establishments along route.
Tomorrow will report to UIHC & surrender my ID, stick the fork in my butt, I am done!

If things keep going good I'm going to try to come up and watch. Missed not seeing people in June and am tired of being stuck in the dang house with wife, granddaughter and brown dog.
Those three are the pickiest to cook for, they are driving me nuts. ;D

Is camping at the range acceptable?
-
There is primitive camping on the range, PONY

Hi
Sometimes I hate the fall. On the 17th, I have CMP Games in OKCGC, I need to coach 4H that day, also at OKCGC, I was SUPPOSED to work Camp and Shoot for Boy Scouts in Goldsby OK, and I'm missing a decent match.
Dammit

The cook would appreciate a bit of a heads up as to who all is coming, I would hate for anyone to go home hungry!

I believe myself and First Sergeant Hefner are planning to attend. Is Long Range Rifle going to be about what it was last year? Need to know what loads to bring. How about any sort of Precision Pistol?
-
Precision pistol will be incorporated in to a skirmish run. There will be a separate precision rifle
-
Is the precision rifle "long range" or closer? Full power loads, or skirmish loads?

I'm planning to be there

Last year we did the long range all at 100 yards on AR500 silhouettes sized 100%, 66% and 33% to simulate 100, 200 and 300 yards. At least the same sight picture, no elevation changes. As far as I know we will be doing the same unless someone has some suggestions that the Lt. Colonel and I approve of. I guess at 100 yards the skirmish loads with the appropriate sight settings would be effective and not as as likely to knock the targets down. Opinions?

Works for me!

Are spectators/lookieloos allowed? I might be able to get away Friday PM or Saturday AM to visit.
-
YES! Come and watch, we have been known to share toys.

+1 to Drydock!
Absolutely! We'd love to have you!
-
There won't be much of the contingent present on Friday afternoon, mostly people camping on site. We will probably be finishing the set-up of the range, but some "toy sharing" and Happy Fire may be possible depending upon how far along we are. The real spectacle will be Saturday from about 9:00 until 16:00. Spectators are of course welcome, eye and ear protection is required on the Range.

Got the Krag Carbine sighted in today. Can't wait! (The 150 grain jacketed load works really well. Thanks, Drydock!)

I was looking forward to the Nebraska Muster this year. Unfortunatly, I have four hour business Zoom meeting on Saturday. Hope everyone has a great time!
-
Four hour zoom meeting?! Yuck!

I thought you retired?
-
I wish I was retired! I was wanting to make this match, but once again, it seems work and shortage of employees has interfered again.
-
What is the minimum round count? How many cartridge boxes do I need to have on person.
Thanks
Brian
-
Dusty, there are two skirmish runs with around 14 to 20 rifle targets each. There is also precision rifle and you will need a minimum of 9 rounds and a max of 15. A half of box of sidearm rounds should cover it
-
Going to bring an make an offer box, including 2x civilian 1892 series Colts, an Civilian 1899 S&W, Colt 1909, 2x C96, (1 with matching numbers) & although not allowed in GAF, an Enfield Tanker.

So a hundred rounds of rifle ammunition should be MORE than enough?
-
Considering your skills Dale, you should be able to shoot the match TWICE with 100 rds.

I was going to bring that "mystery" trapdoor bayonet in hopes that someone can help me figure out what it is for. Anyone going to be shooting a 50-70 trapdoor? Sounds like I might need to bring some cash as well, I could never do a military impression, but civilian scout is a possibility. Eventually.
-
What are the directions to the range? (Unless I missed that somewhere.)
-
Never mind. Found them on the NCOWS site.
-
If it helps, can bring a 50/70 to try the bayonet on, however, it may not fit, was chopped down to cadet length. BTW, the standard 1861/1863 bayonet will fit on the 50/70, can bring a repo as an example.

What time is the shooters meeting?
-
Will we need an edged weapon?
-
What time is the shooters meeting?
With all due respect sir, I believe Lt. Colonel Quickfire's first post on this thread says mandatory Safety Meeting @ 9:45.
According to our permit, we cannot begin hostilities until 10AM

Major B.N. Scotty

Sorry, missed that! Thanks!

If you would please, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Things are going good again, should be up sometime to watch.
-
You folks put on a really good match again this year! Did it snow there last night? Woke up to 3-5" on the ground here at Ord!
-
Just a very small trace, Dale. Glad you enjoyed it he show
-
Thanks again Jack, Mike, and Miss Teresa for putting on another great shoot and meal!!! Enjoy the great camaraderie and enjoy seeing my friends!!

Right back at you buddy

Great shoot, had a blast.
Spent the night in Missouri Valley, woke to 3”. Glad it wasn’t a 2 day shoot.

Good time, good shootin', good whiskey, good people. Fine way to end the shooting season. ;D

Really enjoyed myself in spite of all the gun problems. Thanks Quickfire for the use of your trapdoor. The one time I don't take a backup gun is the one time I needed one the most.
We had at least 6" and a 2+ hour power outage.
-
It makes it worth the work to put on a match when you have a great bunch of folks show up to participate! Thank you to all who came to help make the last shooting event of the year at Raccoon Forks a memorable one. I think our squad laid down very effective fire as we found no survivors when Lt. Colonel Quickfire and I cleaned up the aftermath of the battle.
As a side-note, it was brilliant of Lt. Colonel Quickfire to have the shoot on Saturday, which turned out to be a beautiful Autumn day, as opposed to Sunday which was not nearly as nice!

Jacob Sent me some pictures. The first 2 are of the same shot. His camera must be pretty fast.
Thank you Quickfire for the use of the carbine!

I think Jacob's trigger finger must be pretty fast Sir, or he has impeccable timing!
