Rodeo with serial S600. How do i find year it was made and if usa or italian? Were there italian rodeo guns? I do not have gun in my possession.

Internet saying all rodeo guns after prefix C are USA. True?

Rodeo marked “colt and s&w special” then off to the right marked with numbers 38.
Does that all mean 38 special?

I am pretty sure after the "C" prefix they are all USA. All Rodeo II's are USA parts guns.

I have seen all USA parts Rodeo's in very good to excellent condition on GB going for around $1500-$1800. Sometime more but seldom less.
Yes, "Colt and S&W Special" 38 is a .38 special.

That is interesting info. I looked at a pair on gunbroker that the seller claims are stainless. They looked nickel to me in the pics. There were stains on both guns i ask about, and i questioned about them being nickel, not stainless. They told me they would take to local gunsmith to verify. A day later they came back and said the gunsmith agreed they were stainless and he could get the “water spots” off for $100.
i have backed off from purchasing them as the seller has NR for feedback and i swear they are nickel.

As stated, USFA never made a stainless steel gun. What you were probably looking at was an early (Italian parts) USFA model "China Camp," so named for a champion SASS shooter. The China Camps were highly polished carbon steel that looked like stainless but without the stainless properties.
As an aside, I would be wary of any gunsmith that couldn't tell the difference.

They are nickel. I relooked at the pics. I already decided to pass from all the red flags i was seeing. Now i am not sure i even believe they took them to a gunsmith.
