I'll wade in (again).  I'm not a collector of anything.  Well, there are a couple of speeding tickets, but I digress.

That example is one absolutely gorgeous Revolver.  Turnbull CCH, the "correct" barrel length, the grip set could go either way.  A few like it, most don't.  Obviously we expect it'll be stuck inna back of some safe for occasional "lookie lookie what I got."

Over Two Grand??  Nah.  As good as any USFA??  You betcha.  Is someone gonna pay stupid money for it and stash it away??  Yepper!!  I once had a pair of USFA "Double Eagle."  Just didn't like em so I sold em for what I had innem (that was dumb).  For each their own.  Burma Shave

As nice as it is you can still tell it's not a made in USA one. Hammer block safety, cast or pressed hammer checkering, slightly gappy fit of gripframe, and the hammer profile not quite matching the backstrap. Still better fit than some 3rd Gen Colt's of the same time frame but definately not as good as the later 100% USA made USFA. The current bid of $4176.99 makes me think some are confusing it with a 100% USA one. Plus the seller calls it a USFA when it clearly says US PT. FA on the barrel.

That's stupid money for an Uberti parts gun. Yes, Turnbull case colors and carbona bluing (Pre-war finishes) but it's still a Uberti. Nowhere  near the gun the later domestic USFA's were.

I'm also skeptical about the Davidson's reference. I seem to recall that they did not distribute for USFA until much later. Well after the "P" was dropped.
