Paper Patched 45-75 ...
(1/1)
john boy:
Buck has a mold that casts a 0.835 PP 45-75 bullet and Winchester sold Long Range Sharps 45-70 bullets that were cast 1:11 alloy.
So, I took my '74 Sharps adjustable PP mold: cast a few - wrapped a few and loaded one ...
Naked bullet:
* 1:11 alloy
* 0.385 length and 446 diameter (cupped based)
* 252.3 - 252.9gr
Wrapped Bullet:
* Three wraps - 0.003 Strathmore Tracing Paper
* 0.456 wrapped diameter
Loaded Cartridge:
* 348 Resized Case
* CCI LR Primer
* 63.5gr Goex CTG
* 0.1" Compression
* 1/8" Felt Wad - Lubed with Pope's Bayberry Recipe
* Light Crimp
* COAL - 2.430 (will have to be fired as a single shot)
How do they shoot? Have no idea but will find out next time at the range ;)
Pettifogger:
If you only loaded one as long as you don't miss the target, the group should be real good. :D :D :D
