Lee Turret press questions
« on: July 30, 2020, 10:11:11 PM »
I haven't been able to get a reply to my emails sent out to venders and Lee so I guess I will ask here. I inherited an older Lee turret press. The boxy one with the cast aluminum handle. Anyway it came with 2, 3 hole turrets. question 1. will the 4 hole turrets fit into the 3 hole housing or do I need a different housing? #2. when I run a cartridge up into a die the 3 hole turret lifts up within the housing about 1/32" or so maybe a little more. Is this tolerance normal? Bullet seating seems to be the most critical action. A little disconcerting. The other 3 hole does the same thing only worse which leads me to believe I have worn parts. Thanks

You need a conversion kit to fit the 4 hold turrets. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1013005713

A little bit of give is normal, but that sound a bit much.  Turrets are aluminum and will wear,  I suspect your press has had a lot of rounds thru it.  New turrets should be tighter.
Civilize them with a Krag . . .
