First off gotta say I just love the early Cowboy Junkie stuff...(them reviewers that said Margo Timmons had been hittin the thorazine jar were just way off...)

But, I came here to tell ya'll about last nite. My little woman bought tickets to go see America and Three Dog Night. I was sceptical to say the least. Liked a number of songs from both groups but hey.....

Boy howdy was I wrong. America started the show off and were a little bit better than I expected. Then TDN came to the stage. Original band members Danny and Cory looked like they had just come from the old folks home...but after a couple of songs they warmed up. and started to really put on a show. In the middle of Mama they stopped and Cory put on some glitter and they showed what that song would be like if it was a rap...funny stuff.

Of course I always like to hear my friends (Hoyt Axton) stuff and it was stand up.
Then they introduced some songs that would be on their album coming out in 2035 (joke here) and they did a blues number that ripped. then a 6  part acapella number that qould make ya cry. if interested in them check it out on:
http://www.threedognight.com/
I have to say I had a blast...now gotta dig out a couple of old records..

If any one is interested, them boys (3 Dog Night) are gonna appear here in Rancho Cucamonga (SoCal) next month Sept 10th I think...at the center in Victoria Gardens. It is a brand new concert hall and seats less than 400. not a bad seat in the house. Think my wifey is makin me take her.......again...

Found that a lot of folks have never heard this original.  It's a little more colorful than Johnny Horten's version an more accurate.

Del, No one plays like Junior. I've seen m live several times. My favorite is always gonna be "Highway Patrol" and the Moose's favorite is "You're Wanted By the Police and My Wife Thinks You're Dead". I heard him on Austin City Limits about 20 years ago and have been a fan since then. He has another song he calls "Surf Medley" that is good as well. If you haven't heard it, you're missing some classic Junior.

Clint somewhat resembles Roy when Roy was younger.

Somewhere back in the early 90's.  It even got some radio play.

I never got meet Roy or Dale, but I met Dusty at the Musuem when it was still in Calif. Roy and Dale came into a restaurant in Waxahachie one time when I worked for the PD. Dale's mother lived in a small town south of Waxahachie. She had past away and they were there for the funeral.

The album with that song on it was called Roy Rogers Tribute,it has a bunch of Country singers doing duets with Roy.if you can find it it's worth buying.

I'd like to find a copy of that. I'll check on Amazon for it. We finished off the leftover chicken fajitas for supper. We got teased by the rain, more forcast for today. I've got an eye exam at noon today, then get some new glasses.
