Hi
You don't mention where you live, but if you live near a range that does Cowboy Action Shooting of some sort, I would suggest dropping by a match. If you show any interest at all, I'm betting that the shooters will all but force you to try what they brought.
I bought a Pietta SAA Cavalry Model in .45 Colt. I'm also a 1911 guy. I didn't like the grip on the SAA at all. I bought a pair of Schofields after trying one at a match. Your "model" choices in a cowboy single action revolver (not necessarily a Colt type SAA) are:
1. Colt replica Single Action Army.
2. Ruger Vaquero Single Action.
3. Remington Single Action Outlaw (1875 or 1890)
4. Schofield Singe Action break open.
5. S&W Model 3 Russian
6. Colt replica Bisley.
7. Colt replica SAA with the Thunderer grip.
Grip is very important in shooting (thank you Captain Obvious), if you don't like the grip, you won't like the gun. You mention the 4 click which is a COLT only thing, but you also mention that you're a 1911 type which is a VERY different grip.
Hope this helps.
