A week ago today I was working in the Bat Cave, moving books from one side of the room to the other...bottom shelf to bottom shelf.
I had moved a stack over, took a phone call, went back and put the books on the shelf and found about a pint of clear water (No dirt or color to it at all.) on the floor by the shelf I had just emptied a few minutes before.
This an inside wall and the book cases are built right to the walls.
First checked to see if my old dog had had an accident. Nope.
It was raining, had been for three or four days, so I checked the attic. Not a sign of dampness anywhere, not above, below, on either side, nodangwhere. Clean clear water.
Checked the walls and carpet in the hall on the other side of the wall. Bone dry.
Sheet vinyl flooring wasn't wet anywhere around this spot, there are no seams in this particular floor, and there was no water under the book case in the places I could slide a paper towel beneath it.
No evidence of water on any walls or ceilings in the house.
I don't recall ever having water in that room, NOT EVER. Coffee and Coke rarely, but never water.
I have spent a week looking for where this water came from and don't have any answer except maybe it's some of those German ghosts, those poultry guys, I've heard about.
