It's a beautiful day for the race
Stooge Hand is the favorite today
Assault is in there
Dog Biscuit is 3 to 1
Safety Pin has been scratched
Ya ya
And at 20 to 1 ... Beetlebomb
Now the horses are approaching the starting gate
And there they go!!
And it's Stooge Hand going to the front
Cabbage is second on the rail
Beautiful Linda is third by a length
And ... Beetlebomb
Around the first turn
Stooge Hand is still in front
Cabbage is second by a head
Cabbage by a head
Beautiful Linda is third
And ... Beetlebomb
Into the back stretch
Dog Biscuit is now leading the pack
Lady Evelyn is second, very close
Banana is coming up through the bunch
Banana coming up through the bunch
And ... Beetlebomb
At the half
Stooge Hand still out in front
Apartment House is second with plenty of room
Assault is passing Battery
Assault and Battery
Notary Sojac is fourth
And in last place by 10 lengths
I believe it is, yes it is ...
Beetlebomb
Around the turn heading for home
It's Stooge Hand and Dog Biscuit
And Girdle in the stretch
Flying Sylvester is third
And Mother-In-Law nagging in the rear
Oh oh oh
And now they come down to the wire
And it's number one
And now number two
And it's very close
There'll need to be a photo finish
Or an oil painting
And now Louis leads with a left
And Louis is in there slugging
And it's a battle
And now they're tearing hair
There's hair all over the ring
There's hair all over the place
I don't know whose hair it is, ah ah
It's mine
And there goes the winner ...
INSTRUMENTAL

I used a calulator and astrology charts and lot's finger crossing. Before I get my $2 ticket....Any of you have a sure method of picking maybe by the colors (silks) or by the horses color? My grandfather's silks were green and yellow. ;D
Did he have John Deere as a sponsor? ;DGreen Bay Packers. ;D
Did he have John Deere as a sponsor? ;D
I'd put my money on Toothpaste, but he'll probably get squeezed out on the rail........ ;D ;D ;D 8) ::)
Hey Trinity, I like the town sign, where is it located? In Myopia County I'll bet!
There's suppose ta be trees in NC. ::)
Slim
I 'sposse somebody has to grow lumber for The Great Plains. ;DYep. Otherwise you'd be livin' in a soddy. ;D
Now Trinity, if we take the Trinity turnoff will that take us directly to your house? or is there another sign when ya get closer
Hope yer mint julip didn' go sour LR ;)
Anyone ask, you haven't seen me o.k.......................
knew I should have boxed that bet........
Anyone ask, you haven't seen me o.k.......................
knew I should have boxed that bet........
That was quite a duel at the end lR. don't think SS's jockey thoght anybody could run with him at the end. He looked somewhat surprised( look back over right shoulder)........Buck 8) ::)
The figure sits and eats his Mutton Stew and broods how to get out of this mess.
Which is far better than those who don't want out of that kind of mess. ::);D
What are "lottery winnings?" Have you ever seen any? I sure haven't. :( ;D
The Lottery was suposed to divert some of the funds collected to the public school systems in Texas, I don't think that much of it has ever reached the schools.
If ya get a state lottery, find yer convenience stores that ain’t gonna play.
Maddenin’ when ya wanna get in ‘n out quick for some ice cold beer, even willin’ ta pay more for it ‘n ya get stuck behind some fool ponderin’ which scratch off ta buy ‘n droolin’ on the counter. Or the office runner, who is otherwise normal, makin’ the office pool bets then standin’ in the way while he/she cross checks the tickets for accuracy.
I’ve put my intended purchases on the counter ‘n walked out more’n once. Go outtah my way to avoid places that participate.
We’ve some sort of off-track bettin’ thing here. Don’t know how it werks, never been in one. Don’t recall talkin’ ta anyone that has ‘n they ain’t new. Mebbe Rooster knows.
Now, if folks had ta go ta those ta play the lottery I wouldn’t care. I just want ‘em outta folks way when they’re tryin’ ta conduct bidness. The player antics Leo described earlier are the same here, it’s universal ‘n aggravatin’.
Now they are showing close ups of Big Brown''s right rear hoof taken about 200 yds into the race. It shows a sprung shoe, they say it happened when he crosses in front of another horse and the horse clipped that hoof. That could have thrown his stride off enough to make the jockey think something was wrong. Big Brown refused to comment! ;D
Shouldn’t been a big deal that early. Bring ‘im in next time by, change rights, a l’il top off ‘n go. Plenty time ta make it up.
Arcey, What about the spliter? LR, That looks like my old steer ropin' horse.
Needed to take a shim outta the front left
Arcey, What about the spliter?
I guess I had better watch where I "GO"!
Not a chance there litle roo, I'm gonna put my money on that one from Crete Newbrassky, the one they call Alpo's Choice." ;D
Del Alpo's choice is in the can..
I'm bettin on Dunkirk. Got a good feelin bout that one.
I'm bettin on Dunkirk. Got a good feelin bout that one.

I've said it before Arkansas derby produces some great runners..Papa Clem may give 'm the horse
Slim...this one slipped by me by Name...I'm box another $50 Win place or show
Just off PHone Montana's is picking Musket Man also
collect $4.60 next.... winner please!Thanks. ;)
Since he's a gelding it's not like he's going to have any value other than as a racehorse...........
With all the talk about drugging in the racing industry, it is losing its appeal like other drug affected sports.
Horse meat is very popular in France.;D
;D
So is Dell's Cooking. :o
;D
8)
of the ones we've had over the years, I think Secretariat was my favorite . he could just run away.
Envelope, please. And the winner is........................... ::)

currently it looks like these will be at the starting gate. Leo looks like Pants on Fire is the peoples favorite
http://www.kentuckyderby.com/horses
Thanks Lil' Rooster I SHOULD have done the posting of the order :-[
Just glad my picks are in the middle not the inside or outside gates...looks like anybody's race
My "Murphy's law luck" the grey horse Twinspired will win it..Crazy superstition I was told while back always to bet on the grey in the field...
Always get excited for the Derby 8)
II was always told not to bet on the Gray... I never cared for one as a saddle horse either, unlike some of the guys I worked with they prided them as some exotic color.Have ridden quite a few grey saddle horses in my time & have to agree they did have a funny personality about them. I'd never owned one myself. Guess some folks just favored the color most of all.
Thanks fer the updates on Uncle Mo scratch.. ;) Figured that would happen anyhow, runnin' with the colic ain't too good :P
Will hafta peep in the the odds again still gonna box my original choices...
Leo, ya gotta pick 2 more ;D
Good luck to everyone!!
Oww that could be a "life threatener" if a vet can't figger it either...Those Thorughbreds are a sensitive breed when bred too high...
Sounds like it's little more than colic.. Pletcher interview tonight said they are still trying to find the source

Post time an they are talkin hats. Guess it rained earlier an they is waitin a spell. I got ma ball cap on so let's go.
Youu still got some time to tune your bugle. There was 13 races today.
I seen Chef Bobby Flay on there today, he predicts "Soldat' will win the the Triple Crown....I'd bet a worn out martingale he does not bet his TV channel on it.
The CasCity chef have any predictions?
Glad Arch seems to be OK. He gave it his all.
20 ta 1................... Damn....................
Is it too late ta bet?
Phooey..........
Only thing worse than not bettin on the right hoss, is bettin on the wrong one. WM
I like Concealed Identity, Flashpoint and Dialed In.
Heard of some distressin' news of late affectin' the horses on the Western end of the map..
EHV-1 Equine Herpes Virus -1 had reared it's ugly head in Ogden Utah at a NCHA Cuttin' horse competition from April 30 to May 8th. A few cases have been reported in CA, NV, WA, ID, UT, CO British Columbia and a case in Alberta Canada. There is no cure for this deadly virus, and horses can be exposed by airborne or contact touch or equipment. Horse tracks can be next in line for being "on watch".
I am a 7 year volunteer member of the Reno Rodeo and this will certainly throw a challenge at our feet, I work back in the stalls area checkin' in the contestants horses. Our rodeo runs 10 days and a couple days a head for preperation. Our rodeo has one of the last known cattle drives to open the festivities. We may house a couple thousand head during this time on contestant turnover. We have 3 big jackpot ropings, a PWCA barrel race, a santioned NCHA/PCCH/NRC/CHA Cutting horse futurity, cow sorting...etc. We have state and local officials learning more about the risks and preventive measures right now
I just wanted to let some unsupecting horse owners know 'bout this.
I wish I knew how to post a link with the info needed...I'm dumb as a rock on the cut + paste to link to the pages necessary :(
I just "googled" the info and a host of news articles came up...
Keep 'yer critters safe....Letty
Yes, it's not a new threat...virus has been aound a long time, just rearin' it's ugly head again. Colorado has prevented inter-state travel with horses with out a health cert..Just hopin' we don't hafta bust out the thermometers on the rodeo grounds..
There were some outbreaks here locally a couple of years ago, local events require a certifed document stating the Horse is free of Virus
Professional rassler Randy 'Macho Man' Savage died yesterday. Could it be a sign?
Yeah...Mucho Macho Man was blown out 'jus now too...too bad
I ended up a 2 and 3...She thought Shakelford was a "wash out" and not a contender...It was his day
everyone scrambles to cover bets on Brillant Speed... ;D;D ;D ;D
Sounds like that was a great race.
Slim
Since the Rapture is due today, we need a horse with a spiritual name....but there isn't one. Could spell trouble.
That hat's a bit too much. ::)
Slim
;D
got it from Del and Terry
What ya drinkin' for this race, LR?
Damn!
Hope Charlotte's finish is that good tanight.
Hope Charlotte's finish is that good tanight.
I was thinkin the same thing seein it through the horses eyes. How bad can that be? and he won't end up like Barbaro.
Better to stud than a shot and hauled off by a front end loader ::)And he don't get to make any $$ and have fun :o
I think the Irish horse threw a rod..........Still a great race.;) Prolly so................ Just our luck
It’s all George Bush’s fault.
Mylute
Goldencents
Departing
And a 50¢ on Titletown Five.
Never bet onna horse named Tripod.
“Walked the dog.”
Don’t think I’ve heard that since my father passed. Misted me up some.
Swappin’ four feet fer four wheels – if the commercials ever end……………..
Article on the Virginia Derby. FWIW.

Well, Chrome is 2 for 2. Last race is the toughest so we will see.
Short break for such a young horse. Longer race. I would love to see it another Triple Crown winner in my lifetime i just don't see it here.
http://www.sbnation.com/2014/6/4/5779260/belmont-stakes-2014-morning-line-odds
I for one stil don't think it can win. Now that i said that he will.
Mebbe if they replaced the jockey with Daniker...........
Gonna be puttin’ my money, federal, on the Breathe Right® Bandit. Want Roo ta see ‘nother triple crown winner in ‘is lifetime.
Go for it, hossy!
Costas’ll suck ten years after ‘e’s dead…………………………………
What’s the deal, Roo dude. The owner tolt it the way it was or just sour grapes?
Ever year, NASCAR ‘tweaks’ the aero package. Ever time they do they stick sumthin’ on the bodies what pokes a bigger hole in the air. End up with cars what gets stuck inna bunch of other cars, they lose down force (what was ‘discovered’ by Mario Andretti ‘bout four years after Don Garlits was usin’ it on 'is dragsters) on the nose ‘n they won’t turn. Everbody ‘n ‘is kid brother tells ‘em it ain’t gonna werk, they do it ennyways. Then, when folks publically criticize the package, in other werds, tells the truth, NASCAR fines ‘em.
Hoss racin’ folks gonna fine CC’s owner?
Well said- now back to Dale Jr.
