Morning y'all.
Coffee and tea are hot.

Mine was made in early 60's. I don't remember which year. It takes a bit to get used to the flat latch.

'Tis 22 and overcast. "Colder. Cloudy. A chance of snow showers in the morning  then snow showers likely in the afternoon. Snow accumulation around 1 inch. Highs in the upper 30s. Temperatures falling into the upper 20s in the afternoon. North wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 60 percent."
Winter is back.  ::)

Wow, whatever you have must have missed us!  37 and fair here.

"Mostly sunny, with a high near 55. Breezy, with a northwest wind 13 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph."

And we've had pretty similar weather for the last several days.  I guess we did have a cloudy day in the 40s, and a night where we wondered if it had sprinkled a couple drops.

I saw mine offered at a South Orlando LGS, I just happened to wander in.
My gun was a consignment, it appeared unfired in S&W Blue & silver box.
I haggled "down for cash" price and with my CCW permit walked out with it.

That was in January 2010, carried it several years, bought and tried and sold a couple of auto loaders.
And now, full cycle I carry the Mod. 36 again. Revolver is just near fool proof IMHO.

I mostly carry revolvers. Currently on my hip is the Taurus 66.
To and from verk I am currently carrying a Taurus 450 in .45 Colt. It is a K frame size 5 shot with 2" barrel.
My church gun is currently a snubnose S&W 15-3.

Got just enough sn*w to make the roads slick.

The spindle sander came yesterday. Hoping to use it tomorrow.

I have to say, I like this spare Rounds pouch.

It is heavy duty, came with 4 speed load strips (holds 2 = 10 rounds)
It will be on my left side belt and the J Frame in a Desantis pocket holster in my right pocket.
I wore it to a Restaurant tonight for its first outing.

I give it two thumbs up   ;D

Well, been a bit busy here the last few days. Pretty weather, if I could get the back to quit growling, I would enjoy it more. I carried a 642 for many years as my pocket gun. Got talked out of it by a Williamson County Detective some years ago. Today my always gun is a Ruger LCP2 in .380 with the 7 round magazine, what a great little gun. Got my Sunday School lesson ready for tomorrow. May God bless you all, my friends.

I was at my normal haunt, friendly LGS, I note his stock of CCw  guns was sort of low.
Consigned guns were depleted, He said business had been brisk.
There were 3 guns waiting on background checks, he'd opened at 10am and it only 11:15am  :)

One of the guns waiting was an older Dan Wesson model 14 consignment that was a little rough.
Even so, it had not been out more than a day, came in Friday and was snapped up Sat morning.
The gun has some red rust blooms just above the grips, and some on the cylinder.
I didn't ask the purchased price and the hang tag was over with paperwork, so I may never know.
But, I put my card down, and Ted will tell the owner I can " convert and card the rust "
It won't be "as new" but it will conserve the finish and blend in rather nicely.
We'll set if I get the job.  :-\

Another consigned gun was remarkable in its asking price.
A Ruger LCR 38cal. it has a LaserMax Laser, the consigner is "INFLATED" wanting $700  :o
So, the hangtag says $789 that is about $200 + over MSRP retail.
Who knows, it just might get it   :-\

On another note: My wife was pet sitting for a friend last night, so I was a Batchlor.
I decided to go out to dinner and try out my spare cartridge pouch. (above)
So, I get there and see they've gone anti- 2nd, a sign in the window "gun free zone".
This is a new wrinkle, I ate there last week, and no such sign existed  ???

I ate elsewhere last evening, and will continue to do so, sadly I liked that place  :(

Wow, a great day at Church today. Had a lady come as a visitor I had invited. She sat with my Missus and I, really enjoyed the Service. Our Pastor had a really good message today and a Young guy [early 20s] was visiting with a friend of his. I got to talk to him after the service and then got to lead him to the Lord. Man, what a great way to start this week!

Deacon, that is as good as it gets!

We had a blessed church service today as well, and as always, the Lord provided.  My wife and I were leading singing/playing today, and we were apparently able to be a blessing even though the morning was crazy enough I didn't even realize until I was at church that I'd forgotten to put on a belt!  And our new pastor was there for his first Sunday "on duty" and preached a good sermon.  I was on the pastoral search committee (our previous pastor had left last fall), so having him there and hearing him preach was especially rewarding.

Your 642 Lightweight Alloy Frame @ 14.6 oz is about 5 oz lighter than my nickel 36 @ 19.6 oz.
That's big in the CCw world.
But the 36 is only an oz heaver that my Sig 365 @ 18.5 oz so I'm use to the feel.
After 2 broken FP's in the Sig I had lost confidence.

I keep my eyes open for a 642 Lightweight on the secondary market, but the seldom if ever show up,
in the consignment case  >:(

Coffee and tea are hot.

I too am looking for a used 642. It is a bit more sweat resistant than my 442.

'Tis 21 and sunny. High of 65.

I can't recall if I've ever seen one consigned, course I don't cruse GB"s classified's or haunt any other LGS's
all that much.
Meanwhile the 36 will serve, I will mention to my friend (LGS) I'm on the hunt  :)
May go visit him today.

Edit: having said the above, I decided to cruse...

I guess it's not a bad price, but after shipping, FFL fee ,
I'd be at or about the same if I order a new one from my FFL.

I sent the link to you because I believe it's offered in your State  :-\
